While your weekend may not consist of riding the storied cobblestones of France for a chance to win the Queen of the Classics, you can still take on the bumpiest chipseal roads you encounter with the confidence of a pro racing Roubaix with Hutchinson's Sector 28 Tubeless tire.
The French manufacturer developed the Sector 28 in honor of a cobblestone-filled race on its home turf, but the tire can handle more than just centuries-old stones. Using dual-compound rubber and 127tpi casing, Hutchinson created a tire that resists flatting and is dependable on rough roads, gravel, and dirt, maintains a supple ride and easy handling. The center tread is slightly firmer to encourage low rolling resistance, with softer rubber on the sides and subtle grooves in the sidewall to provide grip while cornering.
Relax while riding on summer's torn-up construction zone roads without having to worry about squinting for stray nails or staples — Hutchinson includes a thin barrier to reinforce the center tread that manages to avoid making the Sector 28s feel clunky.

I have had 2 sets of these, one of them is over 3 years old. Tons of miles, probably between 3K and 4K on the road, and another 4K on a friction driven trainer. On the trainer, I inflate them to 95 - 100 psi. On the road, anywhere between 75 and 90, depending on the road surface, I have had only one puncture! I was quite concerned when my first pair developed cracks clear around the tire where the center "ridge" meets the cornering portion of the tread. I took pics and sent them to Hutchinson. They responded within a week and sent 2 new tires, so their customer service was super. The new ons did the same thing. However, I have not found these cracks to have any effect on the performance of the tire. I do run tubes. Both of my sets also have the fray where the sidewall meets the bead, but again, this has not affected their performance in the least. I have put on 3K+ miles with the tires in this condition, and I have full confidence in them. I find the ride smooth and quite fast, and they corner well. I have even raced them on short races over rough courses where I didn't want to beat up my lighter tires. I absolutely recommend them and will buy them again.

Great all rounder
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Out of the box and on the rim no problem at all. Pretty sure I didn?t even have to use levers which would be nice if I had to service a flat roadside. The 28mm measure true to size in 19mm internal rims. Only took them for a short spin but at about 70PSI they are very smooth riding.
