The road is smooth, choppy, rough, and not really a road at all. This is the typical experience of most cyclists and the reason Giordana made their Men's Strada Gel Glove.
The back is designed to be soft and form-fitting, the kind of thing you're happy to pull on and keep on all day. It's made of Lycra and moves with you. The thumb is covered in a soft, synthetic terry material, because all of us, even those who claim otherwise, have a nose that needs wiping in the cold and a brow that needs wiping in the heat.
The palm starts with a durable microfiber base. Three separate regions of gel padding are then added: one under the thumb, one under the heel, and one across the ball. The thumb and heel are covered with material that breathes, while the ball is covered with microfiber that grips. And an extra grip treatment has been added to the thumb pad as well.
The Giordana Men's Strada Gel Glove has reflective elements on the back. It is secured to the hand with a hook-and-loop closure. Sizes run from Small to X-Large.

After a few rides, so far so good

I have owned dozens of riding gloves over the years, these are hands down (he he) the most plush, padded gloves I?ve tried. Not quite too padded for a casual weekend ride with the missus or a 30 mile stomp fest with the boys, the padding is in the right places for the various hand positions I use during a ride. Also use on a 40 mile gravel ride, these might be the best gravel gloves out there. Size is true to slightly small, and only missed 5 stars due to lack of loops to help with removal and some slight fit challenges around the wrist

Hefty, thick padding, adequate fit

These are solid for an entry-level glove. I find them a bit heavy overall, the padding is pretty thick, almost too thick to keep a good feel on the bars. I ordered a large per the sizing guide and they were a little sloppy, if you're between sizes I might recommend sizing down. All in all, these are solid gloves that perform well for an entry-level buy. The soft fabric on the back of the thumbs comes in handy when wiping sweat or a runny nose (or rain from the sunglasses when I got caught in an afternoon thunderstorm) and even if the padding is a bit heavy for my preferences, you've got plenty of it.
