Why We Like The Sormland Tapered Trousers
The Sormland region of Sweden is a rich lowland filled with Birch forests and wetlands that is home to a variety of game—this is where the Sormland Tapered Trousers were designed, and the environment for which they were designed. G-1000 Silent fabric is built with recycled polyester and a durable organic cotton to make a wind- and water-resistant material that protects us from afternoon showers. We appreciate how the tapered legs easily fit in high-shafted rubber boots, and a high-cut waist allows you to comfortably take a knee when you need it. The knife pocket gives you easy access and stores your knife in a safe and comfortable place on the leg. Whether you are hunting or hiking, this trouser uses functional design to keep you comfortable outdoors.

Great pants!
I have two pair and wear them during outdoor pursuits and they’re smart enough to wear in an office environment.

Great trousers for everyday use!
Great trousers for everyday use! I have two pair, grey and olive. I have had them for close to a year now, and they still look new. I wash them and then hang dry them. Finish off with a mild temperature iron to remove the folds and they have that ‘brand new’ appearance. I’m 6’3 inches and 195 lbs. first pair ordered were 37 inches and I had them taken in one inch. Second pair were size 36 and they are perfect! Wish they also came in blue. If they did, I would order a couple of pair and never wear jeans again! I ordered Long (34 inches) and that is perfect for me!

One word FANTASTIC
One of the best pair of trousers I’ve worn, I am out with dog in all weather for over 10 miles walks everyday. Would definitely recommend this brand, they look if they will last me for years.

Performed great hunting so far
I have used these two years now for deer hunting and they have done a great job. I’m 6’3 and these offer plenty of length with a nice high waist, very comfortable while hunting. I’m on the thinner side and I have decent room to layer thermals underneath for me, it’s not a bulky pant though it’s definitely more fitted. I use these as my outer pant and wear them under lacrosse rubber knee boots. Warm and comfortable all day, I can walk through any and all brush at that point. These have been very durable for me so far and have performed well.

Nice but wide
Material is nice quality. They do tend to collect dust and stuff, but washes off really easy. I don’t mind the length, perfect for hiking with boots. I’d recommend getting a size down for sure. They were too wide for me. 6’ 165lb 32 waste normally…

Good but could be better
Love the fit and material, but for hunting pants I need at least one secure pocket for valuables - the pockets aren't that deep and there are no secured pockets. Don't want to spend a day in the mountains to find my keys gone at the end...

Best Overall
By far, the best overall pair of pants. I wear them for work, kneeling on shop floors, in snow here in Alaska and even gravel. They somehow dust themselves off after a few strides. I own five pair but will wear a single pair over a base layer in winter for three days or so. They crisp right up after a normal wash. Worth every single dollar and probably several more.

Good Pants. Rugged Hunting Pants Not.
Sormland trousers check some of the boxes needed to be a forest trouser: decent material; a bit of surplus roominess beyond the expected size spec; overachieving length (but wow, these are long) which is better than too short; and fit/feel as they should for getting around in the woods. That said, these are simply rugged dress pants. And that’s ok, just fall short from being a rugged, grinding it out woods pant, and fall woefully short from a busting the brush hunting trouser. The material is near delicate-like (though very comfortable); the buttons are frail and require periodic re-sewing; even the belt loops are thrifty and sparse; and the cuffs lose integrity right before your eyes on day two of an upland hunt. Again, good pants. And the price is justified…if actually a hunting trouser, which these are not by any reasonable measure. These pants are better suited for getting out to walk a trail or go on a picnic, and are rugged enough kneeling on forest floor picking mushroom or leeks, not hunting. Fjallraven needs to re-think the true utility of these pants, and leave hunting to Barents, Drev, and Vidda Pro trousers.

New favs
These are great pants. They fit long, but the tailoring will sort that out. Hard wearing. I have to climb under vehicles at work more often than I’d like.. these never damage from concrete and look great doing it. I may never buy denim again after this discovery. I’ll be buying more for sure!

Wore out quickly, very poor value
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought one pair and liked the fit so much I purchased a second. Unfortunately neither pair lasted more than 2 years of relatively infrequent use, both failed due to weak seams. My initial hope was the the very thin 'g-1000' fabric was tougher than it appeared but that optimism was unwarranted, these are cheaply made pants. For $140 I'd expect pants to last through years of hard wear and these pants are barely suitable for on-trail hiking - my 2nd pair bit the dust this weekend while I was sled riding with my kid. I also concur that the buttons are cheaply made and break easily.
