Comfort and surface traction
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Very breathable and light with lots of support. Not the best for technical climbing, but does well for an aesthetic hiker. Wider toe box for added comfort.

These are not approach shoes
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I picked these up hoping for shoes that were good at approaches and also trail runs, but they were bad at both. The heel is an elevated sneaker style, which doesn't suit delicate foot moves in scrambles. The upper mesh fosters a sense of mistrust since it stretches and allows your socks to slide around within the shoe during the most insecure parts of your scrambles. The laces don't go far enough to the front, so you can't lace them tightly enough. While quickly descending talus fields or slab, your foot slides forwards and your toes slam into the front of the shoe. My toes were extremely sore after a couple of 10-14 hour car-to-car climbs with long approaches. The mesh upper is also terrible for any desert approaches, or sandy scree. All the dust comes in and cakes onto your sock. If you want a nice looking pair of shoes, consider these shoes. If you want to do approaches, do not get these shoes.
