Invites water
Just got back from first trip in a bunch of rain. Footprint that included the area of the vestibules was a first for me. If any part of the vestibule is exposed to water, there’s now a path for the water to get between the footprint and your tent. That’s exactly what happens to me after a couple hours of heavy rain. Rain fly of Kohana6 also leaked at all 4 vestibule toggle points which exacerbated the problem but wasn’t the source. Anyway, first time I bought a fitted footprint and I don’t think I see the point in including the vestibules’ area.
