    Go fast, far, and light.

Weighing nearly one pound per pair less than the classic TLT Radical, Dynafit's Speed Turn 2.0 Binding is the successor of Dynafit's classic Speed Radical. It follows in the same light, fast, and simple footsteps, with rugged CrMo steel, stainless steel, and forged aluminum construction, 4-10 release values for bomber hold and consistent release, and 12.5mm of adjustable length for use with different boots. The dual heel risers and rotating heel piece are easy to manipulate with poles and the toe pins provide all the reliability you'll need to conquer distant peaks or dip a toe into the rando racing pool. The Speed Turn toe has also been updated with a four-hole mounting pattern, like the Radical, and features the locking climb mode and crampon slot that you'd expect from any Dynafit.

    Perfect

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I always liked the volcano heel instead of those flippy things. These are light, simple, sturdy, and good looking. Big inprovements over the older TLT speed are a new metal plate for the front and more adjustablity in the heel. Looks better, works better. I put B & D volcanoes on them and I think they're the perfect touring binding.

Keep your brakes, 'power towers', gimmicky plastic plates and springy metal flaps to walk on. If these ever get discontinued I plan to stock up.

Great binding - solid, simple, tested, and true.

Easy to adjust the risers using your pole after some practice!

Great binding retention and an awesome binding to pair with a lighter ski!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these almost a year now with my lighter, narrower ski mountaineering setup. Rotating the heel takes some getting used to after starting with Radicals, but I trust this heel more. Have had one or two "auto-rotate" incidents when using risers, but I try to avoid using them.

Review loses a star because the toes are not exactly the same as you get with Speed Radicals. These are the same (newer 4-screw) hold pattern, but they lack the "power towers". I'm not sure this makes a difference.

    Light and simple!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I'm not a huge AT guy but I do know these bindings rock! They have everything you need and nothing you don't. Super light with a solid feel going down hill and 3 settings for free heel mode going up.

They come with a leash for each binding but I guess the only option I would like to see would be a brake kit. If you're looking for a light, no frills AT binding at a reasonable price this ones for you!

    Unanswered Question

Can you switch this binding from tour to downhill mode and visa versa with poles and without taking off the skis?
