When Dynafit expanded its backcountry freeride line with the Chugach and Hokkaido skis, it built them around a Double Elipse Rocker profile that was able to adapt to just about any condition while maintaining a fun, fluid ride during the descent. Dynafit has taken that same technology and applied it to its new Beast line, and the Beast 98 Ski is arguably the most versatile in the lineup.
The ski maintains the same Double Elipse rocker profile, which allows the effective edge to either lengthen or shorten as the skis are rolled on edge—this gives the ski a predictable, catch-free feel as you initiate and release a turn. Full sidewalls offer a more stable feel when skiing at high speeds, while carbon and fiberglass laminates increase torsional rigidity and keep the weight just under seven pounds in all lengths.
