Not what I expected, sadly
I got these for my birthday yesterday and I set out to take my daily walk (usually around 5 miles) and not even a mile in both of my ankles are rubbed raw and bleeding. So disappointing because I loved the look and waterproof features.

Amazing at first. But not made to last. No longer waterproof a year later.
I purchased the first version of these shoes October of last year. They were tight for a few months uncomfortably and then they were awesome. Living in the PNW, they were great on the trails and waterproof. I even fell foot deep in a mud puddle and came out unscathed. However, not much after a year and these shoes are no longer waterproof. Even the slightest bit of rain leaves me with wet socks. Such a shame because these shoes were amazing.

Shoe's that rub
I bought these shoes, wore them once to walk for 2 miles. They rubbed my ankle raw in two areas.

Waterproof!
I absolutely love these shoes! I got them in red and I finally got to test it out while walking my dogs this morning. I walked through puddles slightly below my ankles and it was a BREEZE! Got home my socks are DRY, only had splatters of rain in the exposed part that wasn’t covered by the shoe. I will say, yes, I probably should have used taller socks, the sock part of the shoe did rub against me and it felt uncomfortable. I think if I walked any longer I may have started to bleed but that’s easily preventable. I’m extremely impressed by this shoe and I can’t wait to wear them hiking. Will definitely be buying another pair. ALSO size UP! I’m usually a 7-7.5 I had to buy these in an 8.

Functional but a bit small & uncomfy.
Don’t let the title fool you, I love these shoes. I’m a size 8.5 but ordered a 9, my big toe rubs a bit so I could’ve done a full size up but half size still works. They are waterproof and easy to slip on and off, however the sole is very hard and heavy so not the most comfortable. I’m hoping over time they become more flexible and form to my feet. A great shoe to walk around the campsite in the morning dew but not recommended for hiking.

Size up
I love these so much but I wish I had ordered a half size larger. I ordered my regular size & they were way too small.

Nice Shoes
These shoes are unusual looking which is why I liked them. I normally wear a 9 1/2 in most shoes but got a 10 because Columbia shoes run small to me. I could have gone another half size up but feel these will be ok with a thinner sock. The toe box is fairly snug, not narrow, but has a low profile. They will need some breaking in as they are a bit stiff but they are comfortable and will go great with the rest of my Columbia wardrobe. The waterproof material will be very useful when walking my dogs in the rain. I would recommend this product.

Rough & tough ankles.
The sock like area around the ankle is so rough it feels like it cut my ankles up just trying them on. Couldn’t bring myself to commit to wearing them for a trail so I returned them.
