Noah didn't hide from the flood, he built a boat and rode that sucker out. If you're cut from the same "Embrace the storm!" mold, you'll really appreciate the water-deafeating, cold-crushing Diluvio Gloves from Castelli, which use thick 3mm neoprene to keep your hands comfortable when you're riding through Mother Nature's worst. The Diluvio is rated down to below 40 degrees and uses the same neoprene found in many wetsuits, so you can be sure that it's cut out to handle biblical levels of unpleasantness, but it also has an extended cuff and non-slip palm that are specially designed for cycling, not just cribbed from surf gear. It might be rainy, or snowy, or sleety, or all three, but get out an enjoy it. Noah would.

A really unique set of gloves. These gloves are made from neoprene and they keep your hands incredible warm and protected from the cold. Additionally, the fit is perfect, XXL, for a large set of hands. Best pair of winter gloves available!

    Six Stars

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I just got in from a ride and these are absolutely my favorite gloves. The fit, comfort and grip is tremendous. Yes they get clammy, but only if its too warm out. And I would not call this a deep winter glove. I have found them to be perfect between 38-50. I did a two hour ride at 35, and my hands were frozen by the 90 minute mark. Just turn them inside out after every ride, and I put mine up on top of the furnace to thoroughly dry out.

    Mid-range Warm

I got these gloves for cold winter morning rides and they work great! In my opinion, these are optimal for 1-2 hr rides. Much beyond that and you start to get swampy. Neoprene keeps your hands warm even in wet weather. They don't breath well, so the get clamy relatively quickly. For up to 2 hours, they seem to work fine. Beyond that and I feel you start to reach a limit.

I give these high marks for warmth and comfort, but take off a star due to time line. Longer rides will require a different solution.

    Poor Quality, Stinky

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

First, a warning. Neoprene is really hard to dry out. So, if you forget to turn these inside out after every ride, your hands end up smelling like wet dog, or worse.

And there's the little issue that the fabric covering on the neoprene separates from the neoprene very quickly. Very poorly made. Would not recommend.

It's neoprene so it's gotta be warm...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Neoprene is great. I used to surf and the function of the product, as I understand it, is once I got in the water...the neoprene worked to use my body temp to warm the water between me and the suit.

So, these gloves are great but....for me, only great for a short time (like a CX race). Starting out warm but soon sweaty isn't warm....for long. Don't get me wrong, I like these gloves and use them for my intended purpose...Cross Racing! 40 mins/5 laps is just long enough to fend off wet/cold but any longer, for me, means sweaty hands/cold hands. I don't intend to use these for "long" rides.

Sizing, I have a size 8 glove so the smalls fit great. The fingers are curved just perfect. The cuff isn't too long and it fits tight around my wrist. The gloves are made well, IMHO...stitching is burly. The graphics are cool but I don't expect them to last long due to repeated off and on. I'm hoping they last a couple of seasons but it depends, like everything, how well I take care of them/use them.

All in all, a pretty decent glove for wet/cold riding.

Can you operate an iphone screen with these?
