You didn't kit your machine out with Campagnolo's flagship groupset in order to stop, you did it to take advantage of Super Record's unrivaled precision and weight to go really, really fast. Of course, certain situations demand discretion, and by blending the stopping power of a dual-pivot front brake with the low weight of a single-pivot rear, the Super Record 11 Skeleton Brakes keep you safe without breaking the scale.
The Super Record 11 Skeleton Brakes save even more weight by replacing some of Record's aluminum hardware with lighter titanium. They also benefit from some trickle-down technology, featuring the same serviceable ball-bearing design, orbital adjustment, and aramide-reinforced elastomer brake pads featured on Record and Chorus. They also have the same safety tab that keeps your brake pads from accidentally falling out. The tab is in the back half of the shoe and is released with a little leverage from a small, common screwdriver.
The forged skeleton design of the brakes' bodies is similar to the previous generation's, which was and remains focused on stopping power, ease of use, and lightness. The entire body is forged, so no part of the body is CNC machined. That means there are no artificial weak points where structural failure might become a problem — a comforting thought when you're braking hard on a tight corner during a fast descent.
