Crux Insulated Tube Director

Forget reaching for a drink when you're sipping hands-free with the CamelBak Crux Insulated Tube Director. This drinking tube bends upwards for hands-free hydration when you're hiking, running, and mountain biking. The tube is covered with an insulated sleeve that keeps water flowing in icy temperatures. The Big Bite valve uses an on/off switch for drip-free operation.

It works with CamelBak's Crux Reservoir, which features CamelBak's newest Quick Link connector. This new feature allows you to disconnect the hydration hose without worrying about water spilling from the reservoir. Now you can remove your hydration reservoir from a pack without pulling the hydration tube from its routing sleeve.

Amazing concept. It takes the load off my back while I am paddling. I just need to practice with it and figure out where to have my tube when paddling.

Replacement for camelbak

The new tube came with a different connection than I had for my original camelbak. That is not camelbak's fault I probably should have contacted them to make sure all would fit corrrectly. I jimmy rigged it, cut the new hose and used a hose clamp to connect to original camelbak. The hose I bought I believe it said you could adjust it to fit it next to your mouth, my hose is quite long, so will not allow to adjust, or does not have that capability. It is insulated and a larger diameter so easier drinking and has not froze in the line only at the mouthpiece. I also like the on/off by the mouthpiece.

Cool tubbe

Love the tube but I can not use my magnetic clip as the tube is too large.

Could be better

The insulator and guide itself is good, however the hose was too long. It was a total pain trying to cut the code and insulator to the correct length. It would’ve been so much easier if the insulator wasn’t all the way from one end to the other end. You really only need the exposed hose insulated, not the entire hose.

Sturdy

My pups chewed up my tube on my octaine x16 bag. That tube was not insulated. My new tube is insulated and its stiff to where you can shape it closer to your mouth and it stays. Good option to have both.

Freezes easily in winter

Freezes easily in winter. Tested hiking in MA and NH mountains. Fortunately, I brought hot water in Hydro Flask and Evrgrn insulated water bottles or I would have been without water winter hiking in New England.
