Great mask for winter shred!
First of this was a very comfortable balaclava. It felt good against the skin. I wore mine under a helmet and it didn't really interfere vwith the fit. I did have to loosen the tightening knob at its loosest to get it on and then tighten it back down. I typically run warm, but I was able to wear this comfortably up to temps in the mid-30s. Warmer than that and I would just pull the hood down and keep the mask up. The versatility was nice. I also used this for splitboarding underneath a hat. We had temps down around 12°f and the combination kept me comfortable for the climb up. It kept the cold wind off of my skin and I was able to keep my temperature regulated. Even as mask requirements ease up, I will continue to wear this in future winters.

Love my Blackstrap Balaclava!!
It feels super soft on my face and keeps the cold out too. The stitching is high quality and fits perfectly. I wouldn’t go skiing without it!!!

Love the design. The hinge means the facemask stays in place over my face, which is pretty important in our covid times.

My second BlackStrap balaclava
I use this balaclava under my helmet every day that I ride. Typical conditions for us here in Juneau, AK are coastal snow, meaning very wet most of the time! The coverage is perfect and the insulation is just right. I love the face mask versatility, you can cover your mouth or drop it entirely under your chin while on the fly. My other favorite thing about this balaclava is that it's made right here in the good ol' U.S. of A! Keep up the good work, BlackStrap Industries!!

Perfect on a Utah powder day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fabric is the right weight and stretchiness for all but the coldest ski days (get the heavyweight balaclava for the single digits). Easy to adjust over the nose and mouth if the need arises. Fits snugly under helmet and goggles. Lots of nice patterns from which to choose.
