Why We Like The Black Diamond Blitz 20L Backpack

We load up the Black Diamond Blitz 20L Backpack to conquer demanding alpine routes. Because fast-moving efficiency is essential at high elevations, the Blitz was improved with a new Mini Rip nylon that cuts weight and enhances durability greater than before. The 20-liter capacity offers optimal space without bulking up our setup, and by removing the frame sheet and hip belt, we can diminish weight even further.

Great bag

I have the crag style of this bag as well. Very comfortable and has enough room for everything Definitely could have had a cpl additions to make it better IE small straps on the sides to cinch your rope down so it's not flopping everywhere I love the ice axe mounts they're perfect but also could have used straps for crampons possibly a cpl gear loops

Bought for multi-pitching

So far this bag seems solid in a lot of ways but could be better in a few areas Pros - large main compartment allows you to sort gear as needed without being divided unnecessarily. Two smaller packets allow quick access to keys, lights, phone, ect. Appears durable and rides high enough to not get in the way of a chalk bad. Cons - The water bladder pouch is annoying where you have to unvelcro the pocket 2/3 the way down and wedge your bladder in. This also makes it difficult to hook the bladder so it hangs properly. Shoulder straps could be more comfortable. The securing strap should be longer, its hard to get around a rope when the bag is full packed.

Great pack

I love this pack because of its simplicity. The top draw cord closure is easy and fast, and the zipper pocket is perfect size for a phone, garmin, and snacks.

delicate but purposeful.

this is a better ice and alpine pack than rock pack - i wouldn't expect it to take much abrasion. that said, it's 13oz and can disappear in your bigger pack - there aren't too many other leader packs that still have some structure and decent ice tool carry that hit the size and weight. if you're walking or skiing in to a climb and want a pack on route that can hold ice tools well and isn't just a stuff sack, this is it.

Great Summit Pack

Very light pack, waterproof fabric, room for water bladder and just the essentials for a summit push. I loved it immediately. It’s great pack for stuffing only what you need for a half day excursion, especially if weight is a consideration. Typical BD high quality construction and attention to detail even for a small pack. This should last several years without a doubt.

Nice pack but..

Great light weight pack that is perfect for an alpine day trip or rock multipitch climb. The 2 main issues I found were that my nomics didn't fit in the tool pouch without pulling the velcro tab off. Not a huge deal, but what was worse, on its first and only ice day, the material delaminated away from the top pouch zipper, leaving this hole into the main compartment of the bag.
