Why We Like The 9.4 Climbing Rope
The 9.4 Climbing Rope is Black Diamond's skinniest line that's certified solely for for single use. It's a balance between lightness and durability that advanced climbers look for whether they're projecting sport or trad. Its 9.4mm diameter is at once supple and strong to slide through carabiners without much rope drag and still take a surprising amount of falls. Since it sits on the skinnier side, this rope is a great option for the occasional alpine approach as long as the rocks are dry.

I love this rope and it's super durable!
This rope is light and durable. I mainly use mine for taller routes and multi pitch as mine is an 80m and I like the diameter of the rope as well at a 9.4. It's not the lightest rope but I sill love it and don't mind hauling it. I'd recommend to beginners, intermediate and experts alike. It will get the job done and well. Just keep it flaked properly to avoid twisting.

Just got this rope last month and was very psyched to take it outside for the first time at New Jack City. What's funny is that my climbing partner made a comment about how our other buddy had the same rope and it got core-shot after 3 months, an anecdote I easily laughed off thinking that could never happen to me. Lo and behold, after maybe 15 routes on the first day of the trip, the rope was core-shot. Absolute, mega bummer. Luckily there were other ropes in the crew I was with, so we weren't totally screwed. But, it never feels good to have such an awful first experience with new gear. I repeat, DO NOT BUY THIS ROPE.

Great rope. Soft catch. Knots nicely. Got the 60m. Feds through Grigri and atc smoothly. Haven't had fraying or sheath issues mentioned in other reviews. Climbed on around 15 times. More of a green color.

Amazing rope
Great rope. Out of the box, it is a little slick, but nowhere near as bad as other ropes.

Great rope for most climbing. I like the strength of having the 9.4 with 60m light to keep weight down. Smooth action through ATCs and other devices. Knots tie easy and easy to dress.

Not experiencing the sheath issues reported by others, handled some decent abuse without concern.
Although I have seen several reviews talking about the sheath fuzzing, and while I don't doubt their experience, I have taken it on a number of abusive trips without issue.

Been using this rope all over the desert of UT. It's held up really well on all types of rock. Go for it and enjoy! Doesn't feel as durable as some other ropes I've used but no issues in a year of use.

Fraying Sheath
Sheath began to get fuzzy almost immediately. Less than 10 pitches on it and it looks terrible already.
