Why We Like The Anvil Horn Sleeping Bag
The Anvil Horn is Big Agnes’ sleeping bag that balances all of our comfort, weight, and warmth needs. It’s built with the Flex Pad Sleeve that eliminates the need for insulation down the back, saving weight by using your sleeping pad to keep you warm. DownTek traps in heat on the top and sides, using high-loft down that effectively insulates you against the cold. DownTek is made of down that’s treated so it resists collapse when exposed to moisture, but the shell of the Anvil Horn has a DWR finish to keep it from needing to. The bag is spacious, yet streamlined to reduce cold spots while leaving room for motion in the Free Range hood and footbox.

Misleading
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Extremely disappointing. The bag itself is fine, but not once is it mentioned that there is no down insulation whatsoever on the backside. I understand it is meant to be used with a pad underneath, but hips still touch the ground, etc. doesn’t make any sense.

Fits
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times

Model: long x-wide Stats: 6'7" tall, 60" shoulders, side sleeper. I have enough room to roll around and stretch out. Fits my 30x78 4.3 r rated pad. I'm naturally a warm sleeper. I slept fine in 30° weather. The zipper does catch the material, which is a pain alot of times. Now if only I could find a comfortable pillow!

Best sleep I've had on the trail
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Wide Long

- Weight:

This sleeping bag is everything they describe. I'm 6'1" 200lb, got the wide-long and it is SO roomy yet still so warm. I just used it on my hike in the Uinta mountains, where it got down to the 30s, and I was so comfy. I'm a mover when I sleep but with the Big Agnes sleep system I stayed on top of my pad all night long. Getting good sleep on the trail has always been an elusive thing, but not any more!
