Worst zipper ever....!!!

Can't stress enough how awful this zipper is. Read all the other reviews, I wish I did first. The jacket is great, warm, great quality. Zipper literally DOES NOT WORK....

This jacket has many unique features that make it better than most other jackets on the market. The quality of materials and construction is also better than most other brands.

This jacket is a good example of "you get what you pay for" as it is pretty inexpensive but also poorly made in some aspects. Comments about the zipper are right on- I expect that to fail every time it use the jacket. Also, sizing runs very small. I returned a Large for an XL, and it's on the brink of being too small. Part of that is a weird cut of the sleeves- they are pretty skinny. The comment about pricing is valid too. I returned the Large for cash and bought the XL for WAY less, two weeks later. Zipper was bad on that one too. But, what I wanted was a lightweight hooded jacket as a base layer and this one will do that just fine. But knowing what I know now, I think I would have spent a little more and gotten a better jacket.

Nice fitting Jacket. Color in very close to what is shown. Zipper is cheap and gets jammed/stuck. Watch pricing too. The jacket goes on sales and the price fluctuates a lot. Don?t over pay.

Disclaimer: I was given this product by Backcountry but all the opinions in this review are my own. Overview: I really loved this jacket. I used it while traveling all over Iceland and it performed exactly as I needed it too. Its constructed well and kept me extra warm. Pros: - Jacket material is great quality and does a decent job at repelling water which is important for a down jacket so it doesn't get soggy with light rain - The fit of jacket, I had no issue with. I've seen some reviews of tight forarms but I fould that it was perfect for my size without being too bulky. It also was a great fit for hiking and moving around in. - The details are thoughout. There is a nice felt patch where your chin touches the collar which made it have no issues rubbing your chin when fully zipped. The elastic in the wrist was far enough back that you could still wear gloves and it wouldnt get in the way if. Cons: - The zipper almost seemed like it needed to break in and it was finicky at first. - The jacket packs into itself but it was difficult to actually get it all into the pouch and zip it up. It got down to a small package but I worry about how the seams will hold up in that area after a couple years of shoving it into its pouch. Overall, I recommend this jacket and loved it.

This jacket is good ! , for the $ I think it?s was a very good deal with the amount of features they give you! The only reason not a full five stars is because it does run a little small at the forearms (I can barely get my watch through) and lack of durability as I already seen A few stitching coming undone on the seems. Only a one season jacket so it?s not worn much. Overall it?s great for what you pay for!

Should have sized up

Just received the jacket and I should have gone a size up (as others suggested). The model on the product page is shown to be 6'2 wearing a medium, but I'm 5'10 and skinny so I ordered a medium. Oops. Standing, it fits really well. I love the two-way zipper, hood adjustment cord and hidden elastic in the cuffs that should seal out wind. Slash pockets are well designed. Incredibly light. Looks clean and unfussy. My only dislike was that the jacket felt more snug around the shoulders and back. If I reach to tie a shoelace, it feels like I'm really stretching the back of the jacket and it's uncomfortable. Returning it for a large which I'm sure I'll love.

I was excited for this jacket, ordered a Large, like I wear in everything else. Showed up and the sleeves are to short, torso to short, and my wife said I looked like a stuffed sardine. Make sure and size up if you order! As for build, it had YKK zippers, and the face was more durable than other insulation jackets I've used in the past. I really enjoyed the matte color, just wish they had the green in XL instead of L.
