Comfortable
I sized up 1/2 size, I will wear with heavier socks for trails/hiking

Amazing
Perfect. I'm a lonepeak gal (backpacked 12 mile days in them) but these are that but more cushion and a tiny more support.I bought three pairs of this Timp style and might get more since styles change. I love these so much I wear them all day in house and all around. I forget they are on my feet they are so comfortable. I've bought about 30 pairs of Altras over the years. Everybodies feet are different so reviews are iffy. But these fit me so well. There's a Timp hiking boot that I want to try but the reviews aren't great. But they aren't great for these yet I'm in love with these. So everyone is different...guess I'll try the Timp Hiking boot next!

New shoe design is horrible
Altra has been my go to shoe for years until now. Prior styles had a wide toe box & gave me comfort with enough cushion but was still flexible. the design has changed and it's horrible, disappointed!

Meh
I was excited to try Altra shoes because I've heard great things about their comfort for walking. These shoes are just OK. Not super comfortable. Not worth the price. Based on the other reviews, things have changed. I tested about 4 other pair and they were either too wide, narrow, or uncomfortable. This is the one that fit and I wish I would have returned them, too, because they're not great. There aren't many options for standard width and high cushion, and forget it if you want a weatherproof shoe. Apparently only wide feet don't need water in their shoes.

I love so many things about this shoe: the fabric, the lovely green/peach color, zero drop soles, room for my toes (I wear toe spreaders), but sadly, Altra still just hasn't figured out women's feet. Timps are the only Altra the back half of my feet doesn't slosh around in, but even with these the heel is still very loose and I have to tighten the laces like crazy in the mid-foot to get them hang on my feet at all. I do not have especially narrow feet and Altras are the only running shoe brand that is so off in the fit for me. I'm also a former bare-footer, so would prefer a more minimal, less padded shoe than the Timp, but all other Altras with less padding are like clown shoes on me. I tossed my Escalantes after twisting my ankle from sloshing around inside the shoe. The length of these and all Altras tends to be too short and much too wide. On a quality note: the inside back of Timps tends to wear out in very quickly, but I think that's at least partly because my heels have been rubbing all that time. Hope Altra figures out a shoe that fits women's feet some day. I love the concept, but just can do that ultra-wide mid-foot/heel-slosh thing. The fit may work for someone else, especially if you have very wide, short feet or are a guy.

Poor design of the tongue- cuts into top of ankle
I ran in the Timp 3 for several years (purchased a few pairs initially). Loved the timp 3 but unfortunately the Timp 4 had a design change in the tongue of the shoe and it cuts into the front of my ankle. Doesn't work for me since I wear low rise socks. Not sure how this design passed quality control but hope they change it back to the old style next time around as Altras are the only shoes I wear because i need zero drop.

Not like the Timp3
I'm an avid walker and on my feet for long hours and love the Altra's for toe space even though I have a more narrow foot however, the Timp 4 or the brand new Timp5 is no comparison to the Timp3! Please bring back the Timp3!!!

Love these shoes!
Great shoes with added traction I use for running and hiking! They do run big, I usually wear a 9 but am a 8.5 in these. Had to return the first pair for a smaller size.

Horrible in comparison to the Timp 3
Finally ran out of places to buy the Timp3 & decided to try the Timp4. ONE try on my foot and it's back in the box for return. TERRIBLE in comparison to Timp3 - bring Timp3 back please!
