    Timp 1.5 Trail Running Shoe

Not much about huge training days, 30 mile races, and grueling terrain screams "comfort", but with the Altra Timp 1.5 Trail Running Shoe at least your feet will be immune to the pain as they dart and weave over technical trails. Created with Altra's foot-forward design, this dedicated trail shoe has been updated with a softer and more flexible midsole, as well as a new multi-directional mesh upper. The result is a smoother ride all around, with greater underfoot comfort and a flexible yet secure fit that adapts to your foot's movements as you run.

All the comfort in the world wouldn't do you much good on the trail without the grip you need to charge up steep hills and rocky terrain. Luckily for you, the Timp 1.5 delivers with its DuraTread outsole rubber and TrailClaw lug pattern, which work together to help you dig into soft trails and give you sticky grip on boulders, roots, and scree. A four-point GaiterTrap attachment lets you run without worrying about dirt and other trail debris sneaking in, and thanks to Altra's Zero Drop platform and wider toe box, you'll have a more natural and healthier stride on the trail.

Great daily shoes, creaky and squeaky!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11.5
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 165lbs

These are by far, the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I picked these up for daily use and that can consist of working in an automotive shop, hiking, backpacking or cruising around town. My left foot is larger than my right and these are the first shoes that seem to fit consistently on both feet. My main gripe with these are the creaks and squeaks they developed a month or two into owning them. Seems to be coming from inside the sole, right below the ball of my foot. As the shoe flexes, they make very obvious creaking noise and it kind of drives me crazy. Both shoes do it and I've found other reviews elsewhere that indicate the same issue. If these were only used for trail running, I might not notice but it's annoying for an every day shoe. Overall, I still really enjoy them and I wear them regularly, I'll just be that guy with the squeaky shoes.

    Exactly what I needed

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 12
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 170lbs

I used these for a 100k in Silverton CO this summer, and they were great. Perfect amount out of cushion, grip, and drainage. Highly recommend

Most Comfortable Shoe in All The Land

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 160lbs

Main thing for me is this shoe is very wide which allows for a lot of breathing room. If you happen to be a 35 year old geriatric with severe arthritis, a wide shoe is a must. I was able to hike for four hours no problem in these shoes with no issues.

Timp 1.5's - Awesome daily driver

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 195lbs

I run the Timp 1.5 as my daily driver shoe. I work in a warehouse with concrete floors and walk several miles a day and my feet show no signs of fatigue or soreness. I love the toe box and the grip of the sole. The construction seems solid and durable. And they look super rad with a variety of styles and pants.

How could you improve the OG Timp

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 170lbs

Who thought you could improve on the Timps, this shoe is Awesome. the top mesh is much thicker than the old model. after getting myself a set I had to get a set as a gift for a family member.

@Gabe, The main difference between these and the Lone Peak is going to be the cushion level. The Timp has more cushion and a more performance oriented last. I prefer the Timp over the LP 4 at this iteration.
