Small
Low colar but decent heal fit. But sizing is small and the laces are completely the wrong size

Stickier than Spider-Man's Web Shooter
I've used these for both on and off-road runs, and they stick to everything. The grips as well as the rubber compound used really give you a good feeling of being one with the Earth. I'd attempt to scale a large building in Manhattan with them if I wasn't so clumsy. In all seriousness though, great shoes and very comfortable. My only gripe is that the laces are short and rigid compared to my Via Olympus 2' and Fwd Experience's. I'll be replacing the laces soon, which doesn't detect from the shoes overall feel and capability.

Olympus 5
These shoes feel amazing. I wear them for runs and working out. I actually bought 2 pair, that's how good they feel!

New interior lining broke down in less than 75 mi.
I have been wearing the Olympus line since at least 2022 they usually last 6 months before I wear the sole through. The inside heel area usually deteriorates also with the material wearing through and the padding coming out in pieces. This interior heel wear has never caused me a problem until the Olympus 5. I believe the interior material was changed in the 5 and the material has broken down in just over 2 weeks or just under 75 miles on the shoes. The material break down has caused pills to form on the interior shoe material and on my darn tough socks resulting in blisters on my heel. I use a heel lock lacing technique to limit my heel movement. The heel lock is also difficult to accomplish on the 5's since the laces are much shorter than the 4. Please change back to the previous interior material and provide longer laces.

Shoe laces too short
Just bought men's Olympus 5, size 13. Shoes fit and feel great, but the shoe laces are too short! Customer service wasn't helpful. Replaced the 45" laces with 54" laces and problem solved.

The Sizing Has Changed
When the Olympus 5 was first released, I bought 3 pairs in size 13 and they felt fine. But now with the release of newer colors, a 13 is too small. Altra changed the sizing! I had to switch to size 14.

Does not lock my heel in at all
Standing still, these shoes feel great. But once you start walking or running, there is nothing that keeps my heel locked in the shoe, no matter how tight I tie them. The cushion that is meant for the back of the achilles is simply too low to where there is no pocket for the bottom of the heel to sit in place. This means that every time you step, your heel the back of your heel is coming in and out of the shoe, rubbing against the back. I don't know how anyone walks or runs in them. I do not have this problem with any of Altra's other shoes.

will never purchase again
Shoe came apart in less than 6 months from purchase date despite not being worn daily. Altra refused to honor the 1-year warranty citing it was not a defect although the mesh on the toe came apart. These shoes were only worn inside a school teaching phys ed. For a shoe at this price, better quality would be expected. Very disappointed that they do not stand behind the quality of their product and honor the warranty that they advertise. Will not be purchasing this brand in the future and will no longer recommend the brand to others.

Been searching for a shoe like this for years.
I have tried a couple dozen shoes over the last couple years after 2 major surgeries on foot/ankle I finally found this shoe. It is the perfect fit and support, with comfort and good wear. Been wearing almost daily for about month or so. I use it daily on a production/retail work floor and on uneven farm terrain. I will be purchasing another pair. Fantastic job Altra! Worth every penny...
