these are really goods shoes

I love that Altra expanded to produce scramble/approach shoe. I wear Altras literally all the time, and these have been my go to for desert slot canyon missions for the last year, and as a nice all around casual shoe for everyday wear as well. They have the classic Altra fit, but maybe a touch narrower than the trail shoes I run in, which is nice for steep or off camber rock.

Nice shoe. Runs a little short however, compared to other Altras. I ordered a pair running with my old King MT1.5's as the reference.... too short. Toes smashed up against the front. So I needed to return the 13's and go with 14.

I love these shoes. I'm a fan of altras but I'm no runner, but I've felt like the quality slipped the past couple of years. These shoes were my last attempt to give altras another chance and they've succeeded. The leather hugs your foot. The shoes have grip. The material doesn't feel cheap. They withstand weather and wetness quite well. I'm very happy and I'm already considering a second pair in case I get disappointed again.
