Shoes are tough to buy online, since sizing can be off from brand to brand. Before making your purchase, know your size. I would recommend sizing 1/2 to a full size down, depending on how you like your boots to fit.

Amazing quality, timeless, and worth every penny.

Man, these boots are sweet. BUT THEY ARE WAY OFF in sizing. Probably the nicest shoes I have ever put on. The sizing is HUGE though. I wear a 10 in trail running shoes, 9.5 in street shoes, and 8.5 in these.

When searching for an everyday boot to wear casually with jeans or dress up a little more with slacks and a button down shirt, I kept coming across the Wolverine 1000 Original boot. It is very difficult for me to justify spending this much money on a pair of boots, but after reading the reviews and reading into Horween Leather my mind was immediately put at ease. Horween Leather Company has been running continuously for over 100 years and Wolverine has been making and improving upon the 1000 original boot since 1914. An overwhelming amount of 5-star reviews makes me suspicious so I spent some time on the internet looking for bad reviews of these boots. They were hard to find and usually spoke to the boots not lasting as long as expected. This leads me to believe one of two things happened, the customer did not take care of the boot as directed or the customer received a defective product. When returning my boots, I contacted Wolverine directly and they were very helpful and professional.

When opening the box I immediately knew I made a great decision. The boots come in a high quality dark red shoe box with the Wolverine logo stamped into it. The Boots are wrapped in an embroidered felt cloth and you are immediately greeted by the smell of genuine leather. Many reviews say these boots get better with time and age. I’ve had mine for about a month now and every time I put them on they fit better and are more comfortable than the previous time.

The Horween Chromexcel Leather, metal eyelets, durable leather outsole, and a Vibram heel are all examples of exactly how much thought Wolverine put into the materials and construction of these boots. These boots are handmade in the USA, which is always a plus! The Horween Chromexcel Leather goes through a tanning process that takes more than 20 days resulting in a beautiful leather that gains character with time and ages very well. Goodyear Welt Construction allows these boots to be re-soled repeatedly, so if taken care of correctly these boots could last generations. Upkeep on these boots is as easy as keeping them clean and dry and polishing/conditioning the leather every month or so, depending on how often you wear them.

Sizing is probably the most important decision when ordering a pair of these. Make sure you size down at least one full size from what you normally wear. For example, I normally wear an 8.5 in Men’s U.S. measurement or 42 in European sizing. I originally ordered an 8.5 after disregarding all of the reviews telling me to size down. The 8.5 was way too big in both length and width, so I had to exchange them for a 7.5. The 7.5 is an absolutely perfect fit. I have a wider foot so, at first, they would only fit with a thinner sock on but after a day or two they stretched out enough to put a medium weight sock inside.

If you have any questions on these boots feel free to call or email me.

These boots were made for walking.

Super comfortable right out of the box. This was a big surprise. I found that they ran a little big, but based on everyone else's reviews that they ran large I sized down and I am pleased with the size I chose. Normally, I wear a size 11 but bought a size 10. These boots are very stylish too. I love wearing them with rolled up jeans. Every time I wear them someone compliments me or asks me what they are. I can't wait for fall when the temperatures drop a little more and I can wear them more often. Definitely a great buy, the leather is from Horween and they are made in the good ole US of A can't beat that!

    Day 2: Breaking them in...

Really comfortable! The break-in period is not as bad as I thought it'd be.
Still a little stiff, but I love them. The brown color is very versatile, the size is larger. I normally wear an 11-11.5 depending on the shoe, but I'm wearing a 10 in these.

    Great Boots

High quality looking boots, would order a minimum of a size lower if not a size and a half. The more you wear them the better they are. No regrets spending the money for these boots

I've owned these boots since 2014 and have worn them in every type of occasion. From date night to walking a couple miles a day on the floor at my job, these boots are tough. Any time I wear them I get compliments on how quality the leather is. The marks and wear they've received looks so nice on them that when I first scuffed them I was tempted to do more intentionally. The Vibram sole is the 5th star, I can stand in these all day. My favorite boots to rock.

Wolverine is a name in the boot world that is synonymous with quality. Their 1000 mile boot is their flagship model that has been made in the USA for over 100 years. If you are a boot fanatic or know someone who is, odds are they have a pair of 1000 miles in their collection. The model is clean and simple, yet has a bold character. Dressier than some of the other traditional all leather boots, it will be a conversation piece.
When you buy a pair of 1000 miles you are buying a made in America product, meaning- it will last you years, once it is worn you can resole or re-heel the boot prolonging its life.
There will be a break-in period and it should fit snug out of the box. The leather breaks in laterally to accommodate your foot, but not in length so make sure your toes have room. It's a traditional American built boot fit, meaning size a 1/2 down. For reference I am a 12 in athletic shoes and an 11.5 in 1000 miles.

I scored a pair of these for my husband as a gift and he had this to say...
"Faaaancy. These boots are fancy. Beautifully constructed with much attention to detail. They took quite a bit of walking to break in, as a fine boot should. I am almost excited for them to get beat up, as I'm sure they will look even cooler." Important note, go a half size smaller than you normally would.
