The Wilier Zero.9 Ultegra 6800 Complete Road Bike offers uncompromising race geometry that's trickled down from Wilier's top-flight Zero.7. The main difference in frame technology between the two, which commands a much steeper price for the Zero.7, is the Zero.9's use of mid-modulus carbon, instead of the high modulus carbon found on the Zero.7. The Zero.9 also forgoes the Special Elastic Infiltrated technology found on the Zero.7. Ultimately, this gives the Zero.9 a rawer, aggressive feel on the road.
The Zero.9's 60 Ton Mitsubishi carbon fiber, the same that's used on Wilier's much lauded Cento 1, delivers an optimal blend of stiffness and lightweight performance. In fact, the Zero.9's name comes from the fact that it weighs a paltry 50 grams more than the Cento 1, coming in at roughly .9 kilograms or in the sub 990-gram weight class.
Its traditional bottom bracket height ensures cornering stability at high speeds, while the oversized BB386EVO bottom bracket maximizes power efficiency. The bike's tapered head tube widens from 1 1/8-inch at the top to 1 1/4-inch at the bottom for maximum stiffness. Asymmetrical chain and seatstays properly balance the varying forces applied to either side of the frame. Internal cable routing cleans up the bike's overall look, allowing you to focus on its eye-catching aesthetics and crisp colors. The internal cable routing is also compatible with the Di2 drivetrain, should you choose to upgrade to Shimano's electronic drivetrain in the future.
Apart from the frame's race-specific geometry and mid-modulus carbon, you'll find a generous build that's ready for competitive use. The Shimano Ultegra drivetrain delivers crisp shifting and exceptional power transfer. Wilier even included a matching four-arm Ultegra crankset, instead of a less expensive third-party option. Rounding out the build, you'll find Shimano RS21 wheels for durable, lightweight performance, as well as Willier-branded FSA components along the seat and cockpit.
