    Breeze III GTX Hiking Boot

Forget battling with painful blisters and the stiff, board-like feel of breaking in a traditional hiking boot with the instant comfort of the Vasque Women's Breeze III GTX Hiking Boot. Offering comfort straight from the box, the Breeze III GTX bucks the trend of taking weeks or even months to fully break in a hiking boot. Not only does it provide this broken-in feel the moment you slip your feet inside, but just as importantly, it's more breathable than ever when you're trekking in sweltering conditions.

Nubuck uppers maintain abrasion-resistance on the trail, reinforced with a rubberized toe cap for protection from rock strikes. Strategic ventilation panels actively circulate air inside the boot, preventing overheating in hot weather. Sealing out pouring rain and shallow stream crossings, the Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane keeps your feet pleasantly dry in soaking-wet conditions. This waterproof membrane is the most breathable in Gore-Tex's line, meaning your feet won't soak in sweat from the inside-out during hikes.

One of the most important features of any good hiking boots lies within its shock absorption and aggressive grip underfoot. Fulfilling both of these needs, EVA cushion pods soak up jarring vibration while the Vibram Contact Grip maintains reliable traction with every step. The Vibram sole employs a MegaGrip compound for unrelenting grip across variable terrain, ranging from slick rock outcroppings to dusty desert mesas.

Vasque Breeze III boots take the prize!

Absolutely love them. Got them on sale $50 less than the manufacture's website. They look awesome, feel awesome, and perform wonderfully. Super light weight and very comfortable right out of the box. I wear an 8 or 8.5 and got these in an 8.5

    New Classic

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The breeze is such a comfortable boot and has become a staple of my hiking wardrobe.

    Durable, long lasting

These boots were made for more heavy duty hiking, they do take time for them to be super comfortable but after wearing them in they are awesome. They are a bit narrow but not terrible, seem pretty true to size.

    Solid Boot

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These needed a little breaking in, and I occasionally still get blisters, but these are still very comfortable and supportive on my arches and ankles. I just have troubles with the narrower fit because I have a wider foot. I also like these because they are not too clunky like a lot of boots tend to be.

    Comfy and Lightweight

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

These boots were amazing. They were very comfortable right out of the box. I hate heavy boots, but worry about support. But they were both supportive, lightweight and water resistant. Two thumbs up! I hiked Mt Sneffles (14158ft) and Half Dome. No Blisters! :)

    Not good for sensitive skin

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it

This would be a great boot if Vasque had used the soft jersey lining of previous years but they switched to a stiff, scratchy lining which is particularly irritating at the ankle, even with a thick sock.

    Great Boots!

Got these boots for my sister for her birthday - This is what she said - The boots are AMAZING. This is my first pair of hiking boots, and they have been exactly what I wanted. I like the narrower fit because it more securely holds my foot. I don't slip around in these at all. Very sure footing. The color of the boots matches the online image. They have been easy to break in- I haven't gotten any blisters. I do recommend longer socks to avoid rubbing from the tongue of the boot. They have gotten wet, muddy and dusty, but the dirt doesn't cling to the boot. I go on moderate hikes, and this shoe has met my needs.

My hubs has been a vocal advocate of the Breeze and has constantly raved about how comfortable (straight out of the box) they are. I have a pair of all-leather Vasque backpacking boots that I love, but they're a bit much when it comes to hiking in hot weather. Typically I wear trail running sneakers when hiking in hot conditions, but lately I've been feeling like I could use some extra ankle support. So, after 4 years of hearing how great the Breezes are, I finally bit the bullet and I'm very, very happy I did. As Vasque and my husband have stated, these are in fact comfortable right out of the box. On the first day of wearing them, I took them for an 8-mile steep (and hot) hike, and they were awesome! Super breathable, despite the Gore-Tex liner, and flexible, yet supportive and structured feeling at the same time. The arch support is pretty unreal, though I might put a Superfeet insert in there just for good measure. The shaft is the perfect height, not too low and not too high. Laces do come undone easily if you don't double-knot them, so beware of that. And that MegaGrip trail is ACTUALLY grippy - I remember someone telling me that the tread was structure in a way that was kind of slick, so I was worried I'd be scooting around everywhere, but with the exception of an intentional slide down a snowy embankment, this boot was super grippy! As for the fit, I've long waffled between an 8.5 and 9 with Vasque. I don't have especially wide feet, but the toe box on their shoes seems to run a shade tight / narrow. However, that being said, I once owned a pair of Vasques in a size 9 and they felt like over sized clown shoes. So, I generally stick to the 8.5's and in turn, bought the Breeze's in an 8.5. They were a shade tight in the toe box width, but it never bothered me or gave me hot spots - granted, I was wearing kind of thick Darn Tough socks. So, that's just something to keep in mind for folks who are looking to buy the Breezes. I do wear a 39 in Dansko, a 39 in Birkenstocks (though a 38 in the Arizona), an 8.5 in Saucony, and an 8.5 in Brooks. As far as the changes are concerned, aesthetically the Breeze 3.0 looks mostly different in the toe box area. The toe cap now has ventilation inserts, but the shoe largely stayed the same. If you're looking for a comfortable, versatile boot, I'd highly recommend the Breeze. It's well worth the investment! My husband's finally kicked the bucket this weekend after wearing them while roofing in hot weather (the midsole foam cracked, which, not surprising considering the conditions they were enduring).

    Ultimate Backpacking Comfort

I had the Vasque breezes for 2 backpacking seasons in Montana and a semester in Kenya. I was so sad to retire them. They are comfortable from the get go, run true to size, and are great for all summer romps. The ankle support is great for long backpacking trips and the mesh allows for better ventilation than your standard full leather boot. If you don't plan on diving through piles of jagged rock, you should plan to have these babies for a long time! The Goretex is a great feature for spring hikes and not having to dance around puddles. The photo below is from a hike during rainy season in Kenya. Paired with Gaiters my feet stayed dry on our day hike.
