Complete Garbage--No help from seller.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Used once, the uppermost moveable section became permanently lodged in the upper section. Contacted Backcountry for help and they told me to go to a "local gear shop". We don't have a local gear shop, so i am stuck with a useless piece of garbage.

I bought these poles for the Camino Portuguese from Lisbon to Santiago because of their light weight, crossover tips, and foldability. I absolutely loved them. The gauntlet gloves took a bit of getting used to, but I'm a convert. They came with medium gloves, and i probably would have been better off with small. They stayed comfortableafter several washings, needed after 25 km days. The folding mechanism worked well. And the crossover tips were great. They functioned very well on asphalt, cobbles, tiles, steep hillsides, forests, and fields. I am buying a second pair and trying the carbon.

Complete fail
Upon receiving these poles I took them out of the package and assembled. The poles don’t have any locking mechanism to keep them from coming apart. First pole just disassembled with gravity. The second pole simply would not assemble. Returned via ups within an hour of receiving the poles. Total disappointment.
