About Timberland
Timberland founder, Nathan Swartz, began his bootmaking career in 1918 as an apprentice and learned how to craft fine leather boots. In the 1960s, with the help of his sons, Swartz introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. This technology fused soles to leather uppers without stitching, producing one of the first truly waterproof boots. Now Timberland's line of boots and shoes, both for work and casual wear have grown tremendously. Timberland believes in quality craftsmanship and giving back to the community and sponsors several community service organizations.
