Ohm Sleeping Bag

The hood-less version of its sibling bag, the Hyperion, the Therm-a-Rest Ohm Sleeping Bag also makes its debut in 2019 as an ultralight backpacking option for those headed out on the trail during the shoulder seasons under uncertain weather. While this version doesn't have a hood, it does offer a roomy fit that has the ability to convert into a two-person quilt, depending on your company, for an unencumbered night's rest.

It boasts impressively warm 900-fill down insulation to keep you warm when the nights flirt with freezing, and is treated with Nikwax in order to retain heat-trapping loft when you undoubtedly face moisture on your trip. Cinch the draft collar down on colder nights for snuggle-worthy comfort, which is bolstered by the ThermaCapture lining that retains precious body heat without adding bulk or weight. Beyond tipping the scale at just over a pound, the Ohm packs down to little more than the size of your favorite 1-liter water bottle for space-conscious trekkers.

A fantastic bag for Texas

A fantastic bag for Texas weather. Love the extra roominess on the bottom but would’ve loved for it to zip all around to lengthen out as a blanket.

Soooo versatile!

Love it! Couldn’t decide between a quilt and a sleeping bag, so I went with this. Long enough that I don’t need a hood and super versatile to use so many different ways! I am sleeping so much better after upgrading to this and a the new xlite sleeping pad. Loving outdoor life!

Super light and warm. Great

Super light and warm. Great for warm weather backpack trips. I spent one night out in it and it got into the low 20s. I slept in a couple extra layers and was warm enough. I'd definitely recommend a warmer bag, but I slept well.

Good Bag, Realistic temp rating, could be improved...

Great Goose down bag, needs more down to put it at a 25 degree bag which could then be more versatile during Backpacking seasons. If this bag has 3 more ounces of down weighing then 21 ounces it would be a no brainers. Besides all that, its still able to hold 32 degrees provided you wear Merino wool at night and a light weight down Jacket and wool socks.

Ohm 32 kept me warm

First time with a quilt. I bought the longer version so that I could get my whole body inside of it in case I didn't like the open ended head room. I was able to enjoy both ways. Kept me warm as advertised in some freezing nights at Big Bend National and State Parks. Packs down well. Be sure to shake it out to redistribute the down that tends to settle unevenly. Would recommend.

Versatile, Ultralight Dream Bag- look no further!

I pushed this bag to the limits on an Individual Time Trial of the Colorado Trail. The weight and pack size for the warmth of the bag cant be beat. I absolutely love the versatility of the bag- I am a very active sleeper and a typical hooded mummy bag Is too confining for me... then option to unzip the bag into a full size quilt is exactly what I was looking for. Thermarest, THANK YOU for making the bag that I was searching for- for a long time!

Light, packs small, and feels great

I was looking for something light to use in warmer weather and was considering a quilt. I picked the Ohm because it was just as light and more versatile. I've found I tend to use it zipped up somewhat, even on warmer nights, so I am glad I got a bag that can work both ways. I picked it because of the weight and packability, but I love the way it feels. It arrived about an hour before I was leaving on a trip, so I literally took it out of the box, stuffed it into its compression sack and put it directly into my pack. When I took it out at camp that night I was very impressed with the quality of the bag. It was a bit cold that night and in the morning I was wishing it had some way of cinching the top to keep more warmth in. As I was packing it up, lo and behold, I found that it had just the adjustability I was wishing for. My previous Thermarest purchase was a sleeping pad that I bought 45 years ago--and it still works! This bag has renewed me as a big fan. I liked it so much, I've since bought another Themarest bag for colder weather too.

The summer bag I've been looking for

So much to love about this bag. While I love the versatility and packability, most of all I just love how this bag feels. I bought two so my partner and I can zip them together and cozy up. The Ohm was perfect for a recent trip to Moab where overnight temps dropped into the low 40s. I like that this bag has a little more wiggle room than the mummy style bags. When fully unzipped it functions well as a lightweight quilt. For summer adventuers this will be my go-to!

Bikepacking sleeping bag...YES PLEASE!!!

Wow. That is the word that comes to mind with the Ohm. It is amazingly small and lightweight and extremely compressible. This makes it especially ideal for a lightweight bike packing setups. I have since been able to jettison my triangle frame bag since my sleeping system no longer takes up an entire bag. I pair this with a Neo-Air X-Lite for a compact setup. The square cut on this bag also make it ideal for people who like a bigger foot box or have restless legs (me after 10+ hours in the saddle). This is a must have in my book for those people who are looking to lighten their load and go light and fast.
