Needed a rain jacket for California

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 150lbs

I wore this jacket a few times and it’s done pretty great! It’s been raining a lot where I live so I decided to invest in a waterproof windbreaker. I also wore this standing outside in the rain waiting for a concert venue to open its doors and it didn’t soak through! My shirt was nice and dry. Although it’s a little noisy when I move around but not too annoying. I can wear a hoodie inside it if I need to be warmer but it looks fine with just a shirt underneath as well. Very happy with my purchase

    NF Resolve Jackets for everyone!

We purchased these jackets for our family for Christmas and they all loved it! My family- my wife, my daughter and myself- already have these jackets. We bought these because they are very cool jackets. They stand up pretty good to the rain, they are perfect as windbreakers with layers underneath. I lost my jacket a few weeks ago and purchased another one (men's jacket is cool also). Great jackets overall! Highly recommend.

    My go to jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 5'3"

I love my jacket. Fits well. Protects me from rain and wind without being bulky or feeling too hot. It has been my everyday go to. Even wearing over hoodies during cooler weather. I bought xl for that exact reason. Fits true to size. Buy it. Promise you will be happy.

Perfect for warm, windy, and cool weathe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'0"
    • Weight: 105lbs

Bought this for the summer to fall transitional months in Seattle where it's both windy and wet, and wore it to Tokyo where it rained while warm. It's perfect! Easy to wash and kept me dry, plus it isn't too warm. The inside isn't lined so it's a good windbreaker, I'd recommend for 45 deg F and up.

    Nice Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

This jacket is good layer for a cold, rainy day. It's light weight and easy to pack up so it is perfect for when you are on the go or when you are hiking, camping, etc. Jacket comes in awesome colors. I would recommend getting this product.

Good, But Not What I Needed

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS & S
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I was looking for a lightweight, packable, waterproof, breathable shell to bring to Scotland, something I could carry 24/7 & pull out as needed. The 1st thing I noticed was the gorgeous Sodalite blue color! It's not at all purple, as it appears in some on-line photos. The hood provides good coverage, & I liked that it's stowable, folding into a stand-up collar with a fleecy lining that's very comfortable. This jacket has a flattering cut, & is a good length. I'm 5'5"/120# & the XS fit nicely over a short-sleeved shirt; the S is a little looser, but fits over a vest or sweater. This jacket is heavier than some of the others I tried, which could be a pro or con depending on your needs. It's warmer than some, given the mesh lining, but doesn't pack down as small/light. The sleeves on the XS were ok, but on the Small were way too long for me, & altho they have elastic, they are not adjustable. So if you push the sleeves up, they just fall back down. The zippered flap has velcro strips, which I find tend to stick to things they shouldn't, & sometimes make it harder to open the jacket if you're trying to put it on in a hurry. Overall not quite what I was looking for, so both sizes of these went back.

    Dodge spring showers in style.

Picked this up as a gift for my girlfriend before she went on a hiking trip to Southern California, which has been experiencing their rainy season this past month or so. Have to say, the jacket looks great and seems to bead off water with minimal effort, at least with my sink spray test at home! The hood neatly tucks into the collar if you don't like wearing it and features two different cinch points for securing it in heavy winds. It's rather minimalist in nature, but does an admirable job for being such a lightweight rain/wind shell.

    Not what I expected

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL

I bought this jacket for my granddaughter. It was thin and lite. Not at all what I was expecting for a north face jacket. She gave it away to her friend. Very disappointed because wasn’t a two layer jacket, it was just a shell. I think they forgot to package the inside of the jacket. What a rip off.

    Great Jacket for all weather

    • Fit: Runs small

This jacket is great for rain and wind, and also does a pretty decent job of keeping you warm .The material is a little stiffer than a normal windbreaker, which helps with keeping the rain out. I did purchase a size up, as I do for most North Face items and I am glad I did based on the length of the jacket.

    Beautiful Jacket!

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I ended up returning this jacket as it was a little heavier than I was looking for, however I did love the style and it is a beautiful design. Overall the tailored fit would be perfect for most body types and the style is cute. I was ultimately shopping for a light weight rain jacket and misread the description when I was doing some last minute xmas shopping, however certainly a style to keep in mind if I am in the market for a heavier jacket like this in the future.

    Spring Dream

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: med
    • Height: 5'5"

Light and easy to condense. Worked well in desert climates against hail, rain and high winds. The hood easily fold into itself, and could be quickly accessible for sudden rains. Perfect for layering for various weather conditions. Cute enough to wear in public during light rain/wind, functional enough to take camping/hiking. Great all around spring jacket!

    Survived Iceland

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 118lbs

I did an eight day road trip through Iceland and through all of the unpredictable weather this jacket saved me from being soaked on several occasions. The pockets are great and it is fitted but with enough space for a fleece underneath. I just wish the hood came down more and you could lock the chords once you tightened it around your head so it would stay in place. But all in all, a great purchase!

    Perfect Lightweight Rain Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket to have lightweight rain protection for the summer in Alaska. It's done a great job so far. Rain rolls right off, it has a nice deep hood, and the raised collar helps keep the wind out as well. I've done a few rainy hikes with it and it's gotten the job done. It folds up nicely to throw in my pack when it's too hot, and gives a nice rain/wind barrier without being too stuffy.

    It's ok. Sort of meh.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 130lbs

The jacket is fine. I assumed when it said "Complete protection from the elements" that would include better cuffs. The cuffs on this jacket are elastic and very loose. I assumed the cuffs would be adjustable with something like velcro. Again, it's not terrible. It's just OK, and if I hadn't removed the tags I would have returned it. When I bought the jacket it was on sale for ~$59. I would not pay the full price for this jacket.

Love this jacket for my backpacking trip

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 130lbs

Bought this jacket in 2012 for my first backpacking trip along the AT. Have used it several times when hiked the AT for extended period of times. I love the color, light blue, the material felt great and it does a wonderful job as a wind blocker and a rain jacket. When it rained really heavily I might use a heavier rain jacket but this one works fine for lighter rain. I also wear it outside of my down jacket to keep me warm from the wind. I'm very pleased with this purchase and will continue to use it for backpacking, camping or even daily use. Thank you!
