    Pinnacle warmth.

The North Face knows that summiting the world's tallest peaks requires perseverance, grit, and the right balance between performance and protection. That's why it created the Men's Himalayan Down Parka. Designed for athletes aiming to reach the top of the world, this parka is stuffed with 800-fill down insulation to make it warm enough for the world's highest places and light enough for you to take it up there. The Pertex Endurance shell is designed to provide significant weather protection from extreme conditions while remaining breathable. This layer protects the insulation from the elements so the down can maintain loft and warmth. The Himalayan Parka is also mapped with HyVent Alpha overlays in high-abrasion areas for durability and protection.

    • An expedition parka for protection during demanding ascents
    • 800-fill down offers superior warmth while remaining lightweight
    • HyVent shell provides breathability and weather protection
    • Abrasion- and weather-resistant overlays for durability

    • Adjustable hood is insulated for reliable warmth

    Very warm and cozy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 160lbs

This is one of the greatest jackets for the winter I have ever had. I love that I can go outside in any temperature, knowing I am going to be warm without a doubt. It is very similar to wearing a sleeping bag, very hefty and comfortable.

Among the warmest jackets out there

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 189lbs

I have not summitted anything with this, but used it underneath a shell for an early morning ice climb in the teens. It was way too warm. I ditched it almost immediately for a lighter puffy to avoid overheating.

    Amazing Jacket, Killer Warmth

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 150lbs

Bought this for my cousin for Christmas and loved the highly visible color and the construction is top notch!
Unfortunately she incredibly misjudged winters in New Jersey so the coat ended up being WAY more than necessary! Great for ascending mountains or dealing with sub freezing temps: less so for chilly weather!!

    Awesome except for stupid zipper

    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 110lbs

I bought this jacket to wear when I work outside in Michigan winters - today was the first day it was cold enough to wear - the zipper pull died on the first zip and the tiny little stupid midline zipper would be a deal breaker if I could have found another jacket that met my requirements (down with down hood, chest pocket, not grabby arms, wind/water resistant) - other than the stupid zipper (which is not easy to start or zip) this would rate 5 stars - can't imagine what they were thinking when they chose this zipper

    Himalayan Warmth

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 160lbs

This jacket is awesome! The fit is really nice as it is extremely comfortable and not very restricting, while still allowing for a decent amount of room to layer underneath. The jacket also has adjustable wrist cuffs to get a customizable fit there, as well as wrist gaiters with a thumb look to keep your arms warm and protected from the elements. It also has an adjustable waist and hood to block out snow that might creep in or just cold breezes. The hood is awesome and is so warm.

I have not yet had a chance to take this jacket on any serious expeditions, but I did wear it to a football game where the temps were below 32F and it was snowing the entire time. I was completely warm the whole time with just a T shirt on underneath the coat so that goes to show how warm this coat is and can be with proper layering.

If you are someone who gets cold easily, then you need this jacket because it will always keep you warm. Works great for camping, extremely cold weather in the city, or on a snowy expedition. This jacket is awesome!

    Toasty

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 135lbs

Depending on where you are this might be overkill. This thing packs some serious heat. We took it on a camping trip in Colorado where the temps dipped down below freezing and it was perfect. It is pretty much like walking around in a sleeping bag. It has internal hand cuffs with thumbloops which are great when wearing gloves and the double velcro closer makes sure that none of your heat escapes. The hood is huge, and packed full of down. It weighs a ton, and doesn't compress very well, so packing this thing might be an issue. If you are someone who is never warm, this jacket will definitely be for you.
