    Switcher MIPS Helmet

The Sweet Protection Switcher MIPS Helmet is all about comfort and protection. It features a lightweight hybrid shell that combines in-mold helmet with hard shell to transfer the load of impacts in critical areas. And it uses the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) in order to reduce rotational motion during angled hits. Plus, the EPS liner is specifically designed to absorb shocks.

As the most ventilated helmet in the Sweet Protection lineup, the Switcher boasts more than 20 ventilation points, keeping you warm on the cold days and cooling you off on the warm ones. A single one-term dial system lets you micromanage your airflow, so you're just as comfortable bootpacking to get the goods as you are riding the lift. A separate turndial fit system helps you lock in a secure, comfortable fit, while the vented lining is moisture-wicking, removable, and washable. Plus, the box constructed ear pads have molded hearing ports, so you can rig up your favorite tunes for the ride down.

    Did the Job

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The helmet was an average fit and pleased overall with the functionality such as the buckle. I was a little bummed that I could not fit my beanie underneath the helmet but once I took that off the helmet fit perfectly. Love the color options!

    Not my favorite

I tried this helmet out and found it sort of lacking. It is not super comfortable and I ended up ditching it pretty quickly. It's not padded and requires a hat under for comfort and added warmth, but the fit would not allow for a hat. I wore the S/M and it pinched oddly around my temple even after adjusting the tightness, though it fit everywhere else fine. I had 2 other ladies try it on and they said the same thing (one tried to wear it for a few laps at the resort and said it was giving her a headache). I have a fairly small head and the size chart shows me as a S/M but I should have sized up to a M/L in hindsight. It comes with media compatible ear flaps which is nice, but I didn't really get to test that out so I am not sure how that compares to other media compatible helmets. They had an interesting idea with the clips being magnets instead of a traditional chin clip, but I actually found it the most annoying part about the helmet because I could never get the magnet to line up with my gloves on. Practice might have made it better, but I was too frustrated with it to really think it was a good design. In the end, I don't think it's worth the cost for how uncomfortable and frustrating this helmet is.

    Thats some SWEEET Protection!

I used this helmet for the first time today and I loved it! It is simple, functional, and the design is fun. On a whiteout day like today, this helmet kept me nice and toasty. I love the ear flaps and how they don't hurt my ears after a long day. The buckle is a easy magnetic attachment that makes clipping in and out easeful. I have nothing bad to say about this helmet! The S/M fit my head great (I think I have a pretty averagely small head)!
