Pretty much crap

Bought 4 pairs of these boxers, thinking they'd bre great, and covered by backcountry's warranty in case they weren't. Well, they weren't. Two months in and all pairs have self destructed along the seams. Tried doing a return, but apparently BC no longer offers their "not stoked, return 100%" thing. Customer service basically said II was out of luck. Anyway, $100 worth of crap underwear, (and two shirts falling apart) and I'm filing a chargeback. Tried giving them a chance after the whole "we'll sue any other small business using Backcountry in their name" thing and still bummed. Probably have $6K plus from them off of several accounts and the gear manager for an outdoor program over the years. Looks like I'll be going elsewhere.

Best performance boxer I've tried yet, wish these were more available. They do run large so buy a size smaller than usual (for XL buy an L, etc).

Looking at other reviews, I thought the medium fit great. Bought on sale. I'm 6'0, 175. More on the slim side and they fit great (went with a medium). They are not super thin material but breathe well and work great for everyday use. I don't know if I'd wear them in the desert but work great for the PNW. Stoic is cheaper but the material is holding up great.

Not well fit for a skinny guy

I am 6' 160lbs with a 32' inseam, and purchased a medium... they are too big, unfortunately. Wife already threw em in the wash, so I ain't returning. It is a bummer- because the actual merino fabric is seems very quality for the price- but the fit is just too baggy all around for a prototypical boxer brief in medium. Definitely size down.

Not for the fit slender human

I'm a pretty slender fellow, and was shopping for woolen undies that would be good to wear for my 20 mile round-trip commute to work, while also being anti-bacterial so I could wear them all day while at work too. I purchased these, and some Ice Breaker boxer briefs at the same time thinking I'd give this unknown brand a try. After about 30-seconds of looking at them, they went back into the box and returned to the good folks at Back Country. Why did they get rejected so quickly, you ask? Well, first the waistband is nearly 3-inches tall and also made of a fairly stiff elastic material. No good. Second, they are oddly shaped, with lots of extra room - well...everywhere, especially in the crotch. Perhaps if I had gone a size or two down it would have been okay, but I sorta figured that a medium would be about right. The waist-size was correct, but everything else was oddly enormous. Any way, construction seemed fine and the wool was soft. But, I'd stick with Ice Breaker or Smartwool products in the future.

Good deal on sale, not at full price

I am 6'3", 155lbs and bought the black boxers in medium. They are really comfortable; a little bit baggier than some boxers, but not overly so, and the legs are a good length for trunks, not too long. They are comfortable and wick moisture really well. Compared to the swamp crotch that synthetics typically create, these Merino are awesome. But I got them on sale for $16/pair. Definitely worth it at that price, but at $45/pair, I don't think I'd buy. Also, they're not technically 100% Merino like Backcountry's specs say. The tag says 96% wool, 4% elastene. I assume that's the waistband, so no big deal, but I really wish Backcountry's description just put exactly what the tag says. I've noticed it on other products as well, and always gives me the sense that when I order, I don't fully know what I'm actually going to get. But, if you find these on sale, go for it!

I bought 4 pairs of black boxers. 3 were of the same style, longer in length. The 4th pair were shorter. Not sure the deal with that but I prefer the longer. They were all nice soft material though
