SRAM’s X0 Carbon GS Disc Brakes improve upon the trusted two-piston, two-piece caliper design of previous iterations with an updated lever assembly to offer a lightweight and reliable braking system. In addition to providing progressive modulation with Avid’s TaperBore technology, the new X0 Carbon GS is now around 300 grams lighter than the previous version. SRAM accomplishes this by forgoing the pad contact adjustment, and the carbon lever now rotates around a hollow pivot and bushing instead of a bearing and solid pivot assembly. But, don’t worry, with the new GS you can still adjust reach to place the lever in the most ergonomic position, and this weight reduction doesn’t sacrifice performance.
SRAM’s proven two-piston calipers are built from forged aluminum to ensure stiffness and efficient cooling, and they use banjo fittings for the braided polyester hoses. Also, the X0 brakes are MatchMaker compatible to deliver sleek mounting for compatible remotes and shifters, and the X0 also offers clean routing on most frame designs with standard post mounts. Each lever and caliper unit is sold as Font/left and Right/rear, with rotors sold separately.
