When the pre-dawn thump of a howitzer rattles the empty bottle of champagne off the bedside table in your chalet, you know it's going to be an all-time day; probably a cold one, too. Never fear: the Spyder Chrono Women's Down Jacket has been up since 4, waiting to get outside and into some of the cold smoke powder that's its natural habitat. It doesn't particularly like the warmth of the indoors, seeing as it's packed with super-warm 700-fill down in a 2-way stretch polyester/elastane shell that's made to own the chilly slopes (and streets) of places like Cortina and St. Moritz. Nor do the double DWR coating and Xt.L waterproof membrane enjoy the easy dryness of your suite—they're much happier when allowed to roam the off-piste areas of the resort and the snowy side streets of small-town Switzerland. Slide your pass or phone into the sleeve pocket, cinch up the internal hem drawcord, and let the Chrono take you outside.
