Nope x3
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 43
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 165
Three big problems 1) Very similar experience as prior person posting about initial fit. Left shoe fit fine (or so it seemed) but right shoe was tight in the toebox. Couldn't get it right via velcro, boa, thinner sock. I even purchased a shoe stretcher and that didn't seem to work. 2) My typical rides are 1-4 hours (~5k miles/year). I learned that the shoe was "non-neutral" as it had a varus wedge(?) built in. Didn't think it mattered, though I did notice my feet being a bit "off". Unfortunately, this bit me on a non-typical 7 hour ride with increasing foot and calf pain that I've never felt before in 30 years of riding. I was done 3) Of course, I only figuring this out about 2 weeks after the 30 day return window expired. A Backcountry exception for a long term customer? Nope. I'll be moving on.

Could not get comfortable
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 49
- Height:
- 6' 8"
- Weight:
- 220
I have been using the 1.0's for years now and I can barely tell I have anything on my feet. I tried these a couple times and kept getting persistent hotspots and regardless of sock choice, the top of the shoe near the BOA kept digging into my ankle. They do look great, but I was unable to ride more then 20 minutes without pain or rubbing.

comfortable, high-end, stiff shoe
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 44.5
- Height:
- 5' 11"
- Weight:
- 170
This shoe is probably the best available for those of us who don't want to spend $400 on road bike shoes but want something stiffer than the $75 shoes out there. They are pretty comfortable and kept my feet dry during summer rides of 40+ miles. Good stiffness. Highly recommended! Backcountry makes it easy, including returns, which I had to do for wrong size.
