Ride from dawn til dusk.

Combining all the technical features of the I/O 7 with a photocromic lens and a bonus lens makes the I/O 7 Photocromic Goggles some of the most high-functioning goggles you'll find on the mountain this winter. The photocromic red sensor lens will adapt to changing light conditions throughout the day, so you'll be able to keep charging just as hard in the evening as you were in the morning, as long as your legs are still up to it. And if the sun is really coming on strong, you can easily switch out for the blackout lens using the new Single-pivot quick-release lens system. As with all goggles in the I/O series, the I/O 7 uses a spherical lens with TLT (tapered lens technology) that ensures that you're seeing the mountain the way it is, without your goggles distorting your perspective. And with the vaporator lens, 5x anti-fog inner lens, and Porex filter that lets air in but keeps moisture out, you'll be able to ride all day without foggy goggles putting a damper on things.

this lens fogs

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The first 2 day the goggles were excellent. On the third day the lenses started to fog around 1pm. They fogged while I was skiing and on the lift. Lifting them off my face to get additional air flow did not help. The fog seemed to be between the lenses. The morning of the 4th day they fogged so badly while skiing that it was dangerous and impossible to see. The fog was between the lenses. I had to go to the bottom and buy a new pair of goggles. I bought the Smiths in late November from but did not use them until February 9. Where do I return them? $200+ for 2 days of skiing would be rather unreasonable. Backcounty can you recommend a solution please?

The best Smiths I have used.

I have had several different versions and lenses and so far I am very impressed with the photochromatic carbon x lens smith offers. Very crisp and it is nice not having to change the lens out as often or wishing I had another lens for that day. Also comes with a dark lens for very bright days that you can swap out in only a minute.

Overall great quality, I would buy these again.

Great goggles that fit my face

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these goggles, I got them last year and am really excited to use them again here soon. They are not huge like other goggles I have worn, and these seem to fit my face perfectly. The 5x anti-fog lens really does work and I have hiked in these without having them fog up. The quick release lens system they have is also very on point and makes it very painless to switch your lenses out depending on the lighting that day. Great goggle all around and I was very impressed.

    Clarity!! My kingdom for clarity!!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These delivered. Didn't fog, super crisp vision all day long! we had bright sun so in and out of shadows and they did great. When I use them some more I will up date and add some pics.

The last goggle you'll ever need

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These goggles are fantastic with one minor problem. the minor problem is that for the price the foam could be a little softer and less itchy however after a few days of use it seems to have corrected itself. Now for the good. Photochromic lenses are one of those things you don't know you need until you have it. It is so nice only needing one lens from the time the slope opens till the time it closes no matter what the conditions. however I will say that the blackout lens blocks out full sun with out making everything to dark. The bottom line is these are a fantastic goggle that smith went above and beyond with the quality so I highly recommend them to any one that skis or snowboards for more than an hour or 2 at a time.

    Goggles you can depend on.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Light condition can change fast on the mountain, with the single pivot quick release lens system that won't be a problem. Change your lens in seconds.

Fits great with helmet, and with the airevac integration system say bye bye to foggy goggles. These goggles make the great days better!

Looking good was never so stylish

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These goggles are simply the best. They look awesome and they preform even better. The 5x anti fogging coating never lets me down, even when I am out hiking or doing a quick skin lap. The foam on the face is like your favorite baby blanket and absorbs sweat like a towel. Two lenses is like getting two goggles for the price of one! I am never caught off guard when the clouds come in or when the sun comes out. Having a clip in the back allows me to put these on easily over my helmet/hat, super nice feature that I can't live without. The outriggers on the IO/7 makes the google compatible with just about any head piece you can find. It relieves pressure points and allows the goggle to be in full contact with your face at all times. Want reliability and a goggle that wont let you down? Look no further.

Ive been wearing IOs for years and they are great. Im wondering if anybody has an opinion of these vs the IO.

    Hey Jasper,

In my opinion the IO/7 is the best snow goggle Smith has ever made. I used to wear IOs but have switched over for the following reasons: Facial Geometry frame allows it to fit a wider variety of face sizes. The extended field of vision is better even thanthe IO. Single-pivot quick-release makes it super easy to swap lenses.

Feel free to shoot me any additional questions directly on the IO/7 or other Smith Goggles.
