Fine-tune and customize your Di2 drivetrain.

The Shimano E-Tube Di2 System Check and Programmer gives you the ability to precisely program the shifting of your Shimano Di2 drivetrain. Simply download Shimano's E-Tube software, plug in the E-Tube Di2 System Check and Programmer to your computer and Di2 drivetrain, and install the USB driver. Now you're ready to customize your gear shifting, check previous gear configurations, and update the firmware of your entire groupset.

Compatible with the Di2 6770 and 9070 groupsets, the system allows you to customize shifting operations, such as switch shift functions, fine-tune the rear derailleur position, and engage Multishift for the rear derailleur. Plus, you can check for issues between components, then update them accordingly to fix errors arising from outdated firmware settings. Note that the E-Tube Di2 System Check and Programmer gives you a user name, password, and access to Shimano's E-Tube Project software.

What do you think about this product?

    Have questions about this product?

    Nice to have

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

You dont really need this at all if you DI2 system is working. BUT, its one of those gadgets that are nice to have when needed.

arrived broken in the mail, no refund

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Competitive Cyclist skimped on postage and sent this item by media mail. Unfortunately it got crushed in transit. I attempted to return the item for a refund and even now after 2 weeks I have still yet to get my money back. Better off getting this from somewhere else.

Have one and hope you never need it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Much like a good carry gun, you should have one of these at the ready in hopes that you never have to use it.

Shimano's E-Tube app is pretty much garbage, so it's less of a matter of if you'll brick your Di2 with it, but when. For me, that time was "the first time." My wireless transmitter is installed externally between the left shifter and Junction A, so there should be no issues with connectivity. I fired up the app, it found the wireless transmitter right away, prompted for a firmware update, and failed shortly after, leaving my brand new Di2 setup 100% bricked. I tried unplugging the battery and left it unplugged overnight. I reconnected it in the morning and got nothing, no shifting from either derailleur, no nothing, leading me to believe the battery itself is what's bricked. This PC interface is the only way to recover from such a situation, as you can connect an E-Tube wire directly to each component and update/configure them with a wired connection, rather than rely on an app that was seemingly developed by an intern's dog.

    No alternative

If you have a bricked Di2 component, theres really nothing else you can do except buy this thing to see whats up. For programming and updating your Di2, however, you can just use the regular battery charger and hook that up to your Windows computer.

Does the job, but seems expensive.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bricked my front junction box while doing firmware updates with the charger (BCR2). After an error, shifting was dead and E-Tube wouldn't recognize the unit. E-Tube told me go into single connection mode, which then said a SM-PCE1 is required. I ordered one and it arrived next day before some good riding weather. After another hiccup with E-Tube I was able to get the junction box flashed everything working again.

If you have a friend with a programmer, or your LBS will gives you access to one (without having to drop your bike off), you can probably get by without one of these. If you never update your firmware you'll probably never
need one. But if you like to tinker, it's a good thing to have. It's a shame that this functionality isn't included with the included charger.

      Not Recommended for Mac users

This was way to complicated to get to run on my mac and in the end the functionality was negatively impacted. If you don't have a PC and have a iPad download the e-tube app and get the Di2 wireless bluetooth transmitter and correct Di2 battery and you will have all the functionality in a portable wireless ped for apprx $70 more.

        Sweet and simple

Item worked perfect for my needs. Perfect simplicity as with all of Shimano's products. This thing will actually do way more than what I needed it for but I'm looking forward to doing some experimenting once the weather cools off. Just make sure you pick up the extra hookup cable.

          Unanswered Question

Is this compatible with 9100 groupsets? I have the bar-end port EW-RS910 and the connector doesn't look like a "tube."

Will this also work with the 11 speed 6870 Ultegra Di2 setup? From other websites, it looks like it does. Thank you.

Yes it will! I have Ultegra Di2 on my bike and that's what I use to update the firmware and change the settings for the derailleurs and shifters. Let me know if you have any other questions-

I have read that the newer 6870 and 9070 can be updated and controlled with the provided battery charger that uses the front junction box to charge the battery. . You would download the software from Shimano and can do all the same things with your provided cable. Has anyone tried this feature?

Yes, you can update the firmware ONLY using the charger SM-BCR2 that comes along with the newer Di2 6870 via the Shimano E-Tube, you need the SM-PCE1 (which you have to buy separately) to change the setting of the gears and at the same time update firmware.
