Overall Good Value
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I recently purchased several sizes of dry sacks from Backcountry, having typically used Sea to Summit dry sacks. I got a few for my sons due to a good deal. Pros - They exhibit good water resistance. To test, I placed a dry hand towel and a large rock inside the sack, sealed it with three folds at the closure, snapped it together, attached it to a cord, and submerged it in a lake off a dock. After leaving it underwater for half a day, the towel remained dry, although some condensation was noticeable inside the sack. Con - The black plastic piece at the bag opening tends to break in the middle if folded opposite its natural curve. This happened with two of our 5L bags. While this issue doesn't affect the bag's functionality, it is somewhat irritating.

Water Damaged Camera
This product does not work as described. I bought this dry sack for a trip to the Philippines since I didn't know what kind of weather or conditions to expect. The protection level is listed as ""water proof"" SealLine's definition of water proof states ""Most of our bags fall into this category and are suitable for canoe, kayak and RAFTING use where boats may tip, flip or be swamped"". We went rafting, I put my DSLR in the dry sack and followed the sealing direction. 20 min into the trip the bag had water in it and my camera was broken. We didn't even flip...

Seam came apart after one week
I work in SE Alaska ocean canoeing. This bag held my extra rain gear in a mesh bag. After a week exposed to wet weather the bags seams failed.

I'm very happy with these dry sacks. I'll be buying more
I'm very happy with these durable stuff sacks. They keep my gear organized, and dry here on the Olympic Peninsula. I appreciate the different color options, and the weight to benefit ratio is worth it for me. They function well for river crossings, surf/bike gear storage, makeshift pillows, lanterns, grocery bags, down storage, and small pack/pannier liners. Very versatile.

Great roll top bag
These bags are well built and light weight. I really like the shape for packing over a round bag.

How can you put a price on dry gear? Awesome product.
I have only used these for a couple of trips (canoeing/ backpacking) so far, but it performs exactly as advertized. Down bags stayed dry.

Light. Simple. And strong.
Great bags. Use one for my clothing and one for my sleeping bag just for peace of mind while backpacking.
