Great stiff and light boots
Bought the boots this season to replace aging Nordica pro machine. They felt great out of the box only needing minor adjustments. These are very snug fitting and responsive boots which mean that I got numb and cold feet the first 2-3 days but felt better every day (part of the issue is that I buckled them too tight) I took them back to the boot fitter who made one small adjustment and I was good to go. Now the fit is perfect, These are not comfy boots but are incredibly responsive and precise. They come alive when skiing fast and steep slopes. The cuff strap is great and is the main adjustment I make while skiing (tighter on groomers and a little looser off piste). My only complaint is that Salomon should give a grip walk option. The marginal loss in power would be more than compensated by easier walking/hiking and sole durability. Overall, these are high performance boots in a light package for skiers who value performance over comfort.

Not a race boot
Heads up not a performance boots!!! Seems to hold nice but then the performance of the boot is not okey! So if you are a strong skier this is not your boot!! So, I bought this boots a month ago, I wear them for 4 ski days! Before I had atomic 130 race. The boot does not perform as a race boot at all, plastic is very thin a soft. The right boot is loose so the inner boot feels like getting out when pressure appears.

Having a dominant Park and Back country background doesn’t make you think of a high flex and race performance boot like this. However for a taller, more muscular athlete... I needed the higher flex and decided to go with the S/Max.... with this boot I finally have the ability to stomp X games level tricks on equally or even bigger jumps and it’s even easier to take to crazy backcountry kickers and pillow lines/ cliffs. I finally feel like I have the perfect support with this boot... the best aspect outside of the response and support you get from this, would be the weight.. it’s so lite and even if you’re not throwing down big tricks in the park or finding things to launch off into powder... it fits right out of the box! I didn’t have to break it in for a week like other boots! Amazing boot 10/10!

Best boot!
I love this boot! I always ski a boot right out of the box first to see if I need to do any work for a great fit, I usually slide in my custom liners too. Not so in this boot! I have skied over 100 days in this boot RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! Perfect fit, perfect flex, perfect stiffness for me! If I had a complaint, it would be that they don't have a sole that can handle walking on hard surfaces (or rocks). I know the boot isn't for that, and it would lose a little bit of performance, but because of how this boot performs for me, it would make it even more of a perfect boot. Flat out a great boot...and it is super lightweight!

Get to know your bootfitter
Took quite awhile to get these dialed in, but they ski AWESOME! We tried to heat the shell twice, but ended up punching out the toe box to get them right. These are a narrow fit! I have been a Salomon boot junky since the SX 92 days... I had Force 9's, the Bubble gum boot, the top secret Purple 4 buckle boot and a handful of the red race boots over the years and my last boot was the S/Max 130. I need to cant one foot due to a leg break so the flat sole is the way for me. I absolutely love the light weight and feel for the snow I get from this boot! This might not be the best boot for the weekend warrior, but if you are a true skier, you will be impressed!
