A trout bum's dream come true.

Not too many days go by where you're not either fishing or thinking about fishing, and since your addiction to trout doesn't usually result in long-term employment, we understand that you need to make your hard-earned cash stretch to maximize the amount of time you spend on the water. If all of this sounds familiar, then the Redington Men's Palix River Wader is most definitely for you. With a solid three-layer construction, reinforced knees, and high-density booties, the Palix River is a solid wader that doesn't cost too much more than what you'll blow in a month on the cheap beer and gas station grub that you'll grab along the way to your favorite stretch of water. The Palix River Waders come with all the essentials with gravel guards, waist belt, and suspenders all included, but they also have a single chest pocket with two vertical handwarmer pockets—a nice upgrade from those camo neoprene waders you started out with.

    Run true to size!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Simple, comfortable, lots of chest pocket space, they will keep you warm and dry and these run true to size. This was my first pair of waders, ive used them a few times and I have no issues or complaints!

    Durable and Light

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These waders are extremely lightweight yet very durable. They come with a stuff sack that is very helpful for storing and packing up on backcountry fishing trips. There is an adequate pocket in the front for fly fishing gear and they can convert to waist high waders easily.

    Great First Day on Water

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Tried out my waders this weekend and loved how they fit. M/Long was the perfect choice for how lanky I am. Fits great with my Simms boots.

    Highly recommend!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave these to my cousin as a gift and he has been raving about them! He weighs 180 lbs and is 5'10. The medium fits him perfectly. He was impressed with how sleek the fit is. Used on a couple winter trips to Idaho rivers already and kept him warm and dry. Looking forward to using them on many more trips!

Damn hard on my gear and...

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 250lbs

I'm rough on my gear and these Redington Palix River waders pass with flying colors. I fish quite a bit. In the 2 months that I have been using these waders I've easily put 175 hours on them. Usually fishing smaller and more remote rivers/streams that require humping in through very dense vegetation. And once you finally get to the stream it's even more treacherous than the hump in (scaling beaver dams and fallen trees, etc). These puppies have been super durable; I'm impressed as heck with them. Just wish they had a zipper down the front like the sonic pro hdz... all waders should be made with a zipper, right? So much more convenient.

    My Second Pair

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 190lbs

I purchased the larges and they fit like a charm. I do have small feet though, so the stocking bunch up in my boots. I recently ripped my old pair of waders that were given to me. I had a hard time spending the money on a new pair. Given the price I couldn't pass these up. These waders are light years more comfortable than my old Cabela's hand-me-downs. Used the pouch for your hands in the front for my hand warmers this weekend and it saved my life. These seem very durable and plan on putting them through the wringer this summer. I would recommend these to anyone who doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg on waders.

    new slicks

The new palix waders are sweet. We got these for a good friend of mine who is just getting into fishing. I have another friend with the older version and I must say that these are an awesome improvement with materials and seams and overall fit. Two thumbs up on these for the person who isn't cranking out the fishing days all the time.

      Great Entry Level Wader

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 165lbs

Great wader for the price. They have room but are not overly baggy like some waders. They are super comfy and after a year of pretty hard use they don't have any holes or any wear and tear. The pockets are nice and big and it is easy to overload them

      Good entry level Waders

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my dad to wear. He only fishes a few times a year and takes really good care of his stuff, they are lasting great. I would recommend these to anyone in a similar situation. Those who fish a lot and beat their stuff up will blow out these waders fast.

Just what I was looking for.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium-long
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 175lbs

I can't say anything for the durability, because I haven't used them enough to testify for that aspect. However, the sizing of these waders were perfect. I am 5'11" 175lbs and ordered the Medium-long size, the length was perfect for me. If you follow the sizing chart, you will not be disappointed. Sizing chart on these waders is very accurate. As always, shipping was very fast. Thank you Backcountry!

      Great value for the money

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 210lbs

Bought these waders earlier this year and have used them probably 20 times so far. I have absolutely zero complaints, they seem to be durable and have no leaking issues whatsoever. For the price that I bought them for on S&C, I would highly recommend them. Not sure how they will hold up as I continue to bushwhack, but so far so good!

Gone through two in a year

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ive gone through two pairs in a year and I would say that I don't wear them that much! I would avoid these at all cost! spend a little more money and save yourself the hassle.
Ive also tired to post a review on the redington website but it hasn't made it because it has to go through their review process. very disappointed.

      Great for novice fishermen

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 150lbs

I bought these since they were at a nice price point - it seemed the way to go since i was unsure on how I would catch on to fly fishing. I am satisfied with my decision and would recommend these to anyone that is entertaining the idea of getting into fly fishing. I will definitely wear these until they get a hole or something but for now they fit my needs perfectly.

Size chart is spot on. 5'9" 150lbs 32" waist 30" inseam 38" chest.
      Bought Small.

      leaky boot/poor warranty

After less than one year and light usage the left boot of my palix river waders are leaking. When I checked out the warranty policy of Remington I have to pay to return the defective waders and include a $30.00 check. I should not have to pay to replace these defective waders. 5Thumbs down. Don't buy these Remington waders

A great first pair of waders.

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm just getting into fly-fishing and didn't want to spend a ton on a pair of waders. I bought these and have used them just about every day this summer without a problem. They fit well and are comfortable, and I really like have the multiple pockets. I don't even wear a vest - just throw my fly box and tippet into the front pocket and head out.

        Affordable fun

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size

I recently purchased a pair of these waders. So far I have only used them a few times but I have no complaints so far. For the price these might just be some of the best low budget waders you can get. They don't seem too hot, however I have not used them in temperatures above 85 degrees. They seem light enough to be comfortable on hotter days, however I typically am fishing in light weight pants and chacos when it gets really hot.

The materials feel higher quality than I would have expected from a pair of waders this affordable. I love the having the stash pockets and the hand warmer pockets when temps drop.

If you tend to bushwack a lot to get to your favorite holes or if you fish as often as you can I would recommend getting a more expensive wader. The more expensive waders do seem to have better seams and are typically made of more durable materials. However these waders work exceptionally well for the angler who might only hit the river 50 days a season.

I am 5'10" with a size 9.5 shoe. The medium fits perfectly and offers a little room for layering without being baggy or loose fitting.

Ok, but not for serious anglers

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size

I fish over 100 days a year in the PNW for salmon, trout and steelhead. Since our year-round season varies from hot summer evenings on the trout streams to stormy and snowy winter mornings on big steelhead rivers, good all -around breathable waders are essential.

I'm usually a huge fan of Redington products. Unfortunately after putting in a year with these waders I'm wishing I'd sprung for something higher end.

I would have expected and been fine with a few puncture holes from bushwacking by now, but what keeps failing and leaking on me are the seams where the neoprene booties meet the legs. A good coat of sealant fixes it for a few weeks, but then they start leaking again.

If you fish a few times a summer on sunny trout streams, these should work fine for you.

If you fish every chance you get in conditions where a leak can ruin your day or waste hundreds of miles of driving, spend a little extra on something better.

Lastly, I'm 6'1" 175 and the medium long fits great.
