Why We Like The Classic Moc Boot

The Red Wing Heritage Classic Moc Boot was built with two things in mind: the safety and comfort of the workers who wore them. The Traction Tred rubber soles are built with minimal tread in order to help shed mud and dirt, while still maintaining the grip we need for varied job sites. Leather insoles and cork midsoles provide support and comfort, and become more comfortable over time as they mold to our feet. Goodyear welt construction and durable nickel eyelets ensure these boots will stand the test of time.

  • Classic leather moccasin originally designed for work
  • Full-grain leather offers rough & tough durability
  • Leather footbed and cork midsole offer customized support
  • Goodyear rubber sole welted for additional water resistance
  • Copper Rough & Tough Leather utilizes the no. 45 last with additional room for footbeds

Love these boots!

After a while on my feet they feel like a leather molded sock. Goes with almost any attire I decide to wear. Highly recommend these to anyone looking for a new pair of boots.

No complaints

I wore these boots for a year without working in them and people always thought I had a new pair of boots. Resilient leather quality and I have zero complaints about this pair I purchased October 2022

Black beauts

Added these to my collection today. I love the black leather with the brown leather accents along with the white stitching and soles.

Third times a charm.

For starters, I love these, and own a handful of RW heritage boots. The sizing process however, is wild! I listened to lots of reviews and decided to go into a store to get properly fitted. They said what size IR do you wear, you will be the same size. They also asked if I owned any wide footwear, and I told them no, but that I had been laser fitted for E2 ice hockey skates. They said I was close to a wide but should wear D. Got me a few wides to try on and insisted they looked sloppy. I told them my IR’s were 10D but did feel a little snug and they said it was because they were not yet broken in. I went with the 10D moc and after the break in my toes hit the end so I sold them for a 10.5D. After they broke in I sold them too because they pinched my toes so badly. I’m trying to sell those now and am currently wearing a 10E2 and they are much better. I don’t think I would need an E2 IR but would try an E if they made them. I just feel the mocs run really narrow and that the two different stores I went to cost me a lot of money by not knowing how the 875’s ran.

The boots make you work for their love

My first pair of Red Wings. I did my research. I knew it was going to be a rough break-in period. But I still wasn’t prepared for how rough. I wore them solid for a week. Some days with one sock, most days with double-socks. I tied them as tight as my feet would allow. My heels hurt as did the outside of my foot just below my baby toe. At first I wondered if the boots actually break-in or my feet just get so callused they get used to it. Good news, after 8 days I can wear them (mostly) comfortably with one pair of socks and I know they will break-in even more over time. You will hate the break-in period and start to question life itself. But in the end you will love the boots even more because you gave a little piece of your soul to them. The boots make you work for their love. And now I’m questioning who broke who…

I Love My 1907 Boots!

I normally wear a 9D in Red Wings. Since the size suggestion is to size down, I initially purchased 8 1/2 D but sent them back for an 8 1/2 EE. They are scary stiff when you first get them and feel way over-engineered. After 24 hours of wearing them a lot, they started to feel like I hoped they would. As with my other Red Wings, I look forward to many years with these boots.

Bring back the 8" in Copper Rough & Tough!!!!!

The 8'' model in copper rough and tough has been discontinued. The 6'' model doesn't cut it, as a worker's boot. The current 8'' in Oreo color is way too light. Even after 6 months of oiling. BRING BACK THE 8" ROUGH & TOUGH!

Classic Moc v. Iron Ranger

I wear a 9 D (regular width) in Iron Ranger. I wear a 9.5 EE (wide) in Classic Moc. As others have mentioned, because the Moc runs narrow, I’d prefer more colors in the EE or change the style to make for a wider toe box. Love both shoes, but they fit differently.

I really wanted to like the 8828 mocs, but alas it's not meant to be. I've had my 8119 iron rangers for the past 5 years and I wear them everyday, very comfortable. I've also had my 2233 supersoles for 15 years, again very comfortable. The mocs just have a very different fit style and end up being tight and loose in very odd places on my foot. Also the moc seam across the toe of the boot is glued between the stitching instead of rolled, so it's 2 pieces of leather. I purchased a pair of 8084 iron rangers at the same time and while slightly stiff, they have a superior fit and feel on my foot. Almost as comfortable as my 5 year old pair. I guess it's iron rangers or nothing for me.
