Still innovating.
Petzl blew the climbing community away with the first generation of the Sirocco. Like the Grigri, climbers were blown away by the helmet's comfortable convenience and reliable safety. And just like the Grigri 2 and Grigri +, the new Sirocco Helmet is now even safer and more convenient than before. A hybrid of sorts, the Sirocco now features a polycarbonate crown to handle falling rocks a little better, while the expanded polypropylene foam takes the impact when you go for the whip.
- Redesigned version of Petzl's popular Sirocco climbing helmet
- Top polycarbonate shell handles falling rocks better
- Expanded foam helps absorb impact when you fall
- Wide holes offer excellent ventilation

If you have ever spend a day one multipitch or big way wall you know the annoyance that is constantly having a helmet on. this thing takes that annoyance away with being ultra light weight breathable and easy to forget that you still have it one

Perfect Helmet for all fast and light accents. Bright colors make sure your visible to your partners and the light design ensures your not being slowed down by any unnecessary weight. Truly a perfect helmet for those focused on moving quick in the mountains.

Function (paper) covers style (rock)
While the helmet looks like it's made out of the styrofoam your refrigerator was packed with, it's the lightest of my quiver and checks all the boxes for impact and intended use (backcountry skiing). I purchased this to replace my Smith Vantage (weighs over a pound) as my backcountry ski helmet so I'd have something I won't need to take off after a descent for the skin up. Plenty of ventilation to keep you cool, and comfortable. If you want to sacrifice a few ounces for the traditional helmet look, go with the cheaper Meteor version, it has a coating around the foam so it looks more like a traditional helmet. If your an oz counter, and want the mountain cred, then this one fits the bill. While slim on features, it has what counts, comfortable fit, protection ratings, light weight and a goggle strap (much appreciate that last one).

Luckily havent had this helmet tested with actual falling rocks yet, but I love how light weight, comfy and easy it is to buckle up. Really awesome helmet!

Light and Breezy

It's really impressive how lightweight this helmet is. It also ventilates pretty well, which is perfect for trips to the desert. The magnetic clasp on this helmet is so easy to use and I LOVE the elastic strap on the back - mounting a headlamp onto a helmet can be really tricky, and the elastic system really helps.

Light, only a bit funny looking
- Familiarity:

Very light, hopefully fairly protective. The webbing attachment is easy to use and pretty secure, particularly for how minimal it is. Comfortable overall. Fits the bill for a well-ventilated helmet that you can wear on the way up and the way down when touring.

I LOVE this helmet! I think this is a nice improvement from the original model. Lightweight for those long days in the mountains. Simple design with no unnecessary features. Try one out and you will quickly turn to the featherweight side of the world.

Not the best for cold days
- Familiarity:

Don't get me wrong this helmet is amazing and I can't wait to take it out for some rock climber. However I used it for a day out ice climbing and its light weight features work against it when it comes to wearing a winter hat underneath. But this thing will be great in the summer I can't wait.

I haven't used this helmet too much but just putting it on and getting a feel for it I can say it is super lightweight! It almost feels like it isn't there but feels safe at the same time!

Sold on the Sirocco!
- Familiarity:

Have owned a few different climbing helmets over the years, from hardshell to foam, with each having their pros and cons. I think the Sirocco is by far the best helmet I have ever owned. The EPP foam used throughout this helmet feels much sturdier than my old EPS foam helmet. The patch of polycarbonate shell on top is a nice improvement over the previous version of this helmet. I bought the black one and was a little leery it might be hot, but I just got back from a week of climbing in fairly warm temps (80s) and bright sun and it was totally fine. The venting is amazing, it is super comfortable and lightweight. I have kind of a large noggin and the larger size is a perfect fit for me.

Lightweight for the Win!!

Love this helmet! Light and airy like the meteor but more comfortable fit than the meteor. The head harness in the back is a fabric strap that is easily adjustable. Great helmet so far.

Light is right
- Familiarity:

This helmet is crazy light, I barely even notice when its on my head, and not at all in my pack. Pretty comfortable considering how minimal the design is. It already proved its worth when it saved my head from a golfball sized rock that smashed into it while soling up the Reid Headwall on Mt Hood

Good with only 1 real downside
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Love this helmet, except for two flaws: Flaw 1: Only slightly annoying, it's a little more bulky (height-wise) than my old Half Dome helmet, so I bump my head climbing under roofs. Flaw 2: Extremely annoying, the buckle is magnetic and picks up all kinds of rocks, so sometimes it doesn't unlatch or latch correctly. Otherwise it's super comfortable and lightweight. The extra durability of having the lining on top is nice, because the foam can be damaged by dragging it against rock (but this is expected)
