More packable than a rain jacket and more protective than a windbreaker, the Pearl Izumi Zephrr Jacket acts as a breathable fortress against windy weather and scattered showers. The shell's PI Dry treatment beads off light showers and road spray from dampening your inner layers, while the dual-direction zipper provides venting from either top or bottom. Plus, its highly breathable polyester shell enhances thermo-regulation, keeping the inside from turning into a sauna on wet, muggy rides.
The anatomic, yet relaxed cut keeps it comfortable through a wide range of cycling positions. Best of all, it packs down small enough to fit into your jersey's rear pocket for deployable protection on-the-fly, should the weather change at a moment's notice. Other key features include a drop-tail rear hem for extra protection, as well as elasticized hem and cuffs for a secure, stay-put fit. You'll also appreciate the jacket's highly visible logo and reflective hits for extra safety at night.

Perfect for Southern New Mexico Winters
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This is a nice jacket to keep the wind off of you. In Southern NM, we commonly reach mid-40s to 60 degrees on winter afternoons, but the wind can blast. I need something as an outer layer for wind protection, and this jacket is great: well made, attractive, and functional. This was a great purchase.

Does the job
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Piggybacking on others comments, the sleeves are long but manageable, the sizing is right around the chest which can fit a layer or thermal jersey under, tail of the jacket isn't as long as some might like but I enjoy the compact close feeling. Hasn't rained on me yet so may be exposed when that happens. Two-way zippers are a must for me on vests and shells and this has it which is great. I stayed relatively warm with just this, it blocks wind well on descents. Only picked up brief noises of flapping from time to time. It isn't a race fit but more relaxed, semi-fitted. I was a bit Sauna-y after a 3000 ft climb but that's to be expected. I sweat more than most anyways. Good value for the money in my opinion. There might be better jackets out there but this works for me.

Sleeves, they hit the floor

Nice jacket. Runs tight and the sleeves are very long. If you are a young, tall skinny guy go for it.

Keeps wind out for sure
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The wind could be whipping but wearing this outer shell (with a base layer underneath of course), I feel completely protected. Have ridden with it down into the 40's. I am in between sizes so went with the large, which is working out. I roll up the sleeve a little but is no problem.
