    Great belts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had this belt for around 8 years. It has held up really well. It still holds tight. The end of the belt has frayed a little bit before but I took a lighter to it to melt it back solid. 5 stars

    Buckle Anomaly, 50-50 odds

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Apparently there is a known issue with the buckles (installed backwards) though I was unaware of this when ordering which is my fault. I suspect my belt (ordered July 2018) is one of the backward buckle bunch based on the buckle's significant angled protrusion when wearing it. That said, it's difficult to know which buckle direction is actually correct given the current (as of 11/27/18) product photos ( black belt-buckle faces one direction, blue belt -buckle faces opposite direction). Until there is confirmation from Backcountry or Patagonia that all belts from the backwards buckle bunch have been culled from orderable inventory, it's probably wise to hold off on ordering the belt.

    Keeps my pants up

This belt has been awesome, is super comfortable for working and hiking. this belt has been super durable. I've been wearing this belt every day for over a year and the only down fall is after a while when it gets soft from use it doesn't keep tight as well and you need to cinch it every so often. 9/10 would recommend this belt to any of my friends.

      Sturdy buckle, mediocre webbing

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this belt for a couple of years now and I take it with me every time I head outside. The buckle is super solid and serves as a bottle opener as well. However, the webbing is mediocre. From the get go it started pilling. So far it still holds well but due to the pilling it's looking a bit raggedy by the buckle area. Other than that, solid belt.

      Your pants won't fall down!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This belt is great! It will keep your pants from falling down. The tension lock belt buckle is simple yet very effective. I've had a belt with this belt buckle from another brand for over twenty years with no issues. I decided it was time for a new one. My only concern is that the belt is a little wider than I'd like (at 1.5 inches wide), however it will hold up to rugged use. Patagonia really should use more eco friendly materials such as hemp for the webbing on this belt.

      I have 6 colors - it's the best belt

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Height: 6'2"
      • Weight: 185lbs

The Patagonia Tech Web Belt is the best belt I have found in my 35 years on planet earth. The wide webbing is great for me, I like how it fills-out the belt loops on my pants and keeps them evenly secured to my waist. I've worn this swimming with hybrid shorts and with a suit to a wedding - it is the master of all belts. Get one... or six.

Bought the black, one size fits all! Nice buckle and belt but it doesn't stay tight.

      Solid web belt

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 6'4"
      • Weight: 190lbs

I love all types of web belts for their versatility. This one is no exception, heavy duty polyester webbing and an excellent friction based buckle keep this belt locked in where you set it. I've used it everyday for 2 months and haven't had any slipping.

It Used To Be A Great Belt

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 36 ? Large?
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 200lbs

I have one of the old ones. It has the thicker webbing and the buckle was installed the "correct" way. (direction) For the life of me I don't understand why Patagonia degraded one of the best belts I've ever owned. And I'm 62 years old so I've worn a few in my long construction career. I'm still wearing the old one and was so happy with it that I ordered 3 new ones about a year ago. I wanted some color variety, you know, break it up a bit..... Well as soon as I got them, I returned all 3 of them. When Patagonia goes back to their original manufacturer, I'll come back and buy 3 more. The new ones are not up to Patagonia standards.

Patagonia made a mistake - the factory accidentally put all of the buckles on backwards. As soon as the issue was discovered, Patagonia immediately took them back and restocked the belts with the buckle facing the correct direction. It's back as the best belt around.

      Cool, versatile belt

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: one size
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 188lbs

I bought the Forge Grey color and wear it with my jeans and shorts. Unlike some other web belts I've had before, the buckle on this one actually keeps the belt in place rather than loosen over time. I've got a 33" waist and the length was fine - plenty of extra length if I need it, but it stays in place.

If it was not broke why change it

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

The belt is fine. The rest of the reviews capture the issues. It is thinner than previous belts, feels cheaper and the buckle is reversed which is odd. It holds up my pants and it is not worth the hassle to return, but I would not have purchased it if I had known about the the changes or read the reviews.

      Friction belts,

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: I size fits all
      • Height: 6'00"
      • Weight: 165lbs

Why make the belts cheaper just charge a bit more and keep making the the best belt on the planet. Please notify me when the original belts are back. I'm always in the market for a fine product.

      Patagonia needs to fix this

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

New version has a flimsy webbing material compared to original version. And now they sew the buckle on backwards.

Patagonia used to have an awesome product. The current version is a far cry from the quality expected from Patagonia.
