The R1 Air Hoodie is my favorite in the R1 series! If you walk into our Gearhead office this winter, you're almost guaranteed to find someone wearing one. This jacket is so versatile and comfortable that I wear it all year 'round. It is great as a standalone with layers in spring and fall. It is one of the best active winter jackets I've ever worn. It regulates your temperature very well when cycling, ski touring, hiking, running or snowshoeing, while keeping the chill off in cold temperatures. It also excels as a layering piece under a shell. I love skiing with it, as I can pull the hood under or over my helmet on cold days. I love it the most on powder days! The fit is true to size but slightly slim/flattering. I love it. It has room to layer under, the under arms aren't tight, and my favorite part is that the hand pockets sink in. That makes it extra comfortable. The fabric is very soft and if you hold it up to the light, you can see how breathable and airy it is. I love this jacket and wear it everywhere from the trail to work to the grocery store. I have amassed four of these- two hooded, two not. They are the perfect layer. I wear them for everything; at work (woodworking), walking the dogs, under a jacket for colder temps, under a Houdini for wet trail runs, or to sleep in at elevation in fifteen degree temps. The fit is perfect for me - especially like the longer torso length.
