The gold standard.
A staple in the Patagonia line for going on 30 years, the Patagonia Men's Lightweight Synchilla Snap-T Fleece Jacket sets the standard for multi-functional use. Its lightweight Synchilla polyester fleece insulates against cold temps, manages moisture, and dries quickly, making the jacket ideal for everything from cool mornings at the crag, chilly fall days on your favorite trout stream, and afternoons tailgating in the resort parking lot. Patagonia knows what works and what doesn't, and it pretty much hit the nail on the head when it first designed the Synchilla. As a result, the jacket remains largely unchanged with a streamlined pullover design, stand-up collar, and Y-joint sleeves that leave your arms free to move whether you're warming up on a boulder problem, casting to rising trout, or trying to flag down the bartender for another round.
- Patagonia's iconic Synchilla fleece for hiking and everyday wear
- Double-sided fleece fabric made from partially recycled materials
- Pullover design with snap-button front placket
- Bound cuffs and hem help trap heat for added warmth and comfort
- Stand-up collar with contrasting nylon trim and pocket flap

Super thick and warm. I also love the cool color scheme. Runs a bit too large but its a sweater, its supposed to fit loosely.

Overall quality is great and meets all expectations for the price, but if you are a stickler on the fit you might want to stay away. Like other Patagonia products this fleece has a boxiness to it, but if you don't mind that it is a great product.

This has been a great cold-weather top. It has held up well even after a lot of washes. I bought it in a Med. but should've gone with a Lg. Would recommend!

I thought it was good quality, however, the material was too light for me. The reason for the docked points is that it is baggy and runs large.

Quality, but the fit...
It is too short (even compared to other patagonias which I have) and has a square non flattering fit. Really, like, I'm surprise in 2019 they really think this fit is acceptable. Material is superb but returned due to the fit.

If you're deciding between the lightweight or standard synch definitely go with the lightweight! Synches are TOASTY, and the heavyweight packs too much heat IMO. The lightweight is a more versatile option, especially if you want to layer with it in the winter or fall. It won't make you start to sweat or need to keep taking it off, and as an added bonus they've always got fun and stylish prints.

This pullover is quite possibly the most dope article of clothing Backcountry has, but that's just me. This bad larry keeps me warmer than a newborn pig sleeping under its mom's nutrient spigots. Looks good, feels great. Shout out to Backcountry, patagonia, and mamma pigs everywhere.

Perfect Gift
Perfect gift for my boyfriend's birthday. This fleece has been on his wishlist for a while- it's such an easy piece to throw on for every day wear, or to bring camping. The fit is slightly oversized, but that is the cut of the piece and how it is designed to fit (unlike some other slim-fit fleeces)

Patagonia used to be the gold standard
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- Runs small
Patagonia fleece pullover from 20+ years ago is better quality and fit. The new one is smaller than my original one I purchased over 2 decades ago when I tried them both on one after the other. If an alternative was available I would purchase it over the new Patagonia fleece pullover. My original one is thicker and feels softer.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! I first bought a large which is what he normally takes and it was HUGE. I got him a Medium then and it fits a lot better. The arms are still a bit baggy. This fleece is very stylist and soft.

This jacket is great. I bought the heavier weight one originally but I don't really like heavy jackets. This one has been warm enough for the weather I have faced which is in the low 30's. I even had to shovel some snow. Overall the fit has been great I really like it.

I am a 5'9" male, 190lbs, with an athletic muscular build. I have always been between medium and large but I am unsure what to order for this type of pullover, any advice?

Hey, I am thinking about buying but I have no clue what size to order. I am 5'11 and 190 pounds. I typically order mediums, but I wanted this fleece to be slightly roomy in size, but not huge. Any advice?

Go with a Medium! That should pan out perfectly since the Synchilla notoriously runs a bit big/relaxed.

Andrew, Unfortunately that might turn into an ebay hunt as those are from past seasons and no longer available from Patagonia or Backcountry.
September 15, 2015
I've got a larger build, I'm 6'2 and about 210 pounds, would a large be too small for me? I wear XL in most things but my other patagonia jacket (retro x) is a large.

September 16, 2015
My indirect answer is to order both and keep the one that fits best; otherwise, you won't be 100% certain you went with the right size. My guess, though, is that an XL would fit you more comfortably, unless you want a more athletic fit, in which case you can probably get away with the LRG since I've heard they run a tiny bit big. Again, my suggestion is to order both, and with 2-day shipping going on, you'll know your size by the weekend!

renee, I think small should do it, this piece runs a bit big and I think a medium would be huge on you.

What size for a lanky 6’4’ 175 pound guy? I’m leaning towards a M but I think the sleeves would be too short.

Hi Patrick, At your size I'd get a large. I'm 6ft and wear a medium. Let me know if you have any questions or would like me to set up an order. Ben brabinowitz@backcountry.com 801-746-7564

I would say a large. I am 5'8" 200 lbs and wear a large in almost everything Patagonia makes. If you have anymore questions feel free to send me an email or call! Bill Porreca bporreca@backcountry.com 801-736-6398

I disagree specifically for the Snap-T pullovers. They are built with ample room. I'm 6'-2, 200 pounds and a large was too baggy for me. Medium fit well, though the sleeves are about 1/2" shorter than I'd like.
February 17, 2015
Hi,are all the lightweight snap T fleece on sale or just the ones that have an On Sale sign under it?
