Great simple, light, and functional pack
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- Large
Bought this for an 11-day hike of the Walkers Haute Route in the Alps (staying in hotels and Cabanes, not camping). It worked out great, carried 15-20 comfortably and the size was perfect - not too large but allowed me to take some extra stuff from my wife when we realized her pack was too heavy and was slowing her down. The integrated rain cover was very handy as we had steady rain at least 3-4 days and it kept the contents of the pack dry as well as can be expected. External pockets were very useful and I kept my passport and inreach in the internal zippered pocket for security. Overall a great pack, simple, light, and very functional. I don't like the complicated, heavy, and bulky frame suspensions found on many osprey and gregory packs so I was happy to find this one from Patagonia that keeps it simple. I'm 6'1 with a 33" waist and the large fits great. I appreciate that the waist strap is not ridiculously long also.
