    All-out adventurer.

Conquer high-alpine epics and leg-burning backcountry tours in the Outdoor Research Women's Clairvoyant GTX Jacket. Based on the Outside Magazine "Gear Of The Year" award-winning Men's Axiom Jacket, the Clairvoyant features the same incredibly lightweight and breathable Gore-Tex Active three-layer fabric to keep you dry and comfortable in the face of brutal weather.

You already know that Gore-Tex means this jacket is guaranteed waterproof and breathable, but what sets Gore-Tex Active apart is an incredibly lightweight feel and a supple and quiet face fabric that doesn't have the stiff, crunchy feel of most hard shells. It's also equipped with fully taped seams and YKK AquaGuard zippers so rain and snow don't stand a chance of sneaking in.

The adjustable wire-brimmed hood keeps raindrops out of your eyes without covering up your face, and it's helmet-compatible so you can keep your hood up while climbing or ski touring. Zippered pockets secure small goods, and the hand pockets are placed above your hips so you can still access them with your pack or harness on. When you need to stay dry without getting clammy on an all-time ascent, the Clairvoyant is the jacket for the job.

    Trusty little jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've had this jacket for 3 years now. Have a small, my usual size. The great thing about this jacket is I've used it for everything from windy mountain summits to snow, rain, and trail running. It's pricey, but the use I've gotten from it is a testament to its durability. I don't own an insulated waterproof jacket so I like to layer an insulated piece (like my Patagonia sweater down puffy) underneath in colder temps and snow, works like a gem.

Cannot wait to get into touring this winter, and this is the perfect jacket for it. Love the purple color. But especially love how it doesn't make a ton of noise when it moves. I use it for trail running in the rain, biking, and for winter sports too. Super versatile and great fit.

Love it and so do my friends.

I love the OR jacket for touring. It’s lightweight, doesn’t turn me into a sweat box, but at the same time does a great job protecting me from wind and moisture. Looks terrific with my blue Norrona ski pants too. YEAH! Also, my friend Bill saw it, loved it, and bought the guys version.

Does this jacket have pit zips?

Hey Lydia, this jacket does not have pit zips. If you have any more questions feel free to call me at 801 204 4694 ext. 2451 and I'd be happy to help out! If online chatting is better, my email is

Hey Lydia, Koly is right, no pitzips. Here's why: GoreTex wants to demonstrate that this membrane, called Gore Active Shell, is so breathable, that you do not need pit zips. It does work amazingly well. So, don't let that scare you away - the Clairvoyant is awesome!
