Why We Like The On Running Cloudventure Waterproof Trail Running Shoe

Dark and stormy clouds are no problem for the On Running Cloudventure Waterproof Trail Running Shoe. This tough running shoe keeps our feet dry and comfortable while we're crossing rocky ridges in the Rockies and dashing through lush forests in the Cascades. CloudTec cushioning helps reduce the jarring impact that often comes from running downhill, and Grip-Rubber sole keeps us upright on slick rocks and scree fields. The lace closure dials in a precise fit and the EVA midsole provides the cushion and support we need for happy feet stride after stride.

Anyone else getting knee pain?

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:

This is my second pair of On running shoes. My first was pair was OnCloud and I loved them for their comfort. I did a little road running in them, but mostly at my job where I work on my feet all day. I decided to buy Cloudventure as a good waterproof trail running shoe. I initially broke them in doing some walks, no problem. After my first mountain trail run I experienced a lot of knee pain (which I do not usually experience at all), I mean it really hurt! I decided to give them a second try after a rest period thinking my body may need to adjust to the geometry of the shoe. This time I experienced the knee pain towards the middle of my run, not at the end, and it continued to get worse towards the end so I walked the last 1/2 mile of a 6 mile run (same trail/route as 1st) I will use these shoes for rainy days and walking but not running. I love the color selection and the general feel of the On Cloudventure, but I am sure these are not the trail running shoe for me.

Great overall

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Been using for a few months. Holding up well. Work great in almost all conditions. Only negatives I have are that the upper part is pretty stiff so you have to pull a little more to tighten the laces. The second negative I have is that the lugs tend to have rocks stick in them so gravel running and things like that you have to be ready for the occasional rock to stick in the lugs. Don't walk in the house after a run on your wood floor or something like that and it will be fine. Update: terrible on ice

Good shoe, laces suck

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Comfortable (albeit slightly snug but do give a little after about a week) Waterproof worked in rain Laces are terrible, a bit on the short side to begin with but constantly keep coming off, and need to tie over and over - will buy different laces

Odd as a running shoe; Great walker.

This one is just odd as a running shoe. Seemed to give me an odd gait. Just felt weird, but I found it to be a great wet weather walker. Use it on my own gravel road when its really too wet to ride or run. Kept these.

Size is spot on not to small as I have read. Lacing system is quite good heel support is excellent quality and materials are first-rate an expensive shoe worth the money
