    Unlike any other.

The Omega Pacific Jake Keylock Carabiner's snag-free design reduces cluster-snarls at belays, unless you like that kind of thing. By eliminating the hook in the Jake Carabiner's nose, Omega Pacific created a smooth-operating belay 'biner that's sure to become your favorite. This unique carabiner also has an offset-gate to increase clearance, so you can squeeze in whatever you need without worry.

    I'm a fan

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Being mostly a canyoneer I use these for setting clove hitch blocks. There's a few reasons why I like them over the standard pear shaped biners. I love the offset gate which makes for a huge opening, and the spine shape keeps hitch from sliding up over the top. The big working ends are very useful when having to perform rescues and setting up guided rappels. For it's size they are pretty light, an all around bomber biner. Backcountry usually has them for less than other online gear stores.

Great belay carabiner with one exception

This my favorite biner to use with my ATC, but unfortunately the model I have, the regular non key screwgate, is too thick to fit through my GriGri so when I do most of my gym/lead climbing I can't use it.

      Fantastic Belay Biner

In my opinion the Jake is the best belay biner its roomy like an suv and smooth like a sedan. Also the rounded belay surface and device shape makes rappelling of an munter(italian) hitch in a pinch a little less painful.
