Good frames but Prizm is lacking.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

Prizm Road Black looks like they'd be TOO violet/rose, but once they're on, the tint is barely noticeable. They're pleasant to look through and there is very very little distortion. But like others have said, these DO seem to let in more light than you'd expect so they're not going to be a favorite in bright conditions. They're a good everyday color option for those who don't want the more eye catching Oakley colors. Thanks to the arm design, the Radar EV frames stay on securely even though they're too wide for me. ( I almost purchased the XS version but the lens selection for the XS is pitiful - Oakley doesn't even make pitch lenses for them !!! ) Now on to the not-so-great.... The Prizm effect is super subtle ( nonexistent ? ) on these. I just don't notice any difference between Prizm Road Black and non-prizm lenses. I expected to see a difference in street markings and signs because thats how these 'road' lenses are marketed. But there was no difference. At first I thought maybe the red and green streetlights were highlighted along with the children crossing signs. But when I did the same route in less expensive brown suglasses I had the same experience. Even my cheapie gray sunglasses seem to allow the red and green streetlights and school crossing signs to remain brighter. So....no difference. I just don't notice any prizm effect at all with Road Black.

On the Nordic Trails

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought these specifically for Nordic Skiing and they are a success. I have other Oakleys that fog up on the uphills (heavy breathing), but these are better ventilated along the top of the lens and they sit a few mm further from my face. In addition, I tried the Trail lens and it works great for contrast on the winter trails.

The Quality is Still There

Familiarity:

I have been wearing Oakley eye wear since the 80's (remember the old ski goggle style?) and have yet to be disappointed in their performance. Well constructed and perform terrific in road cycling. Great visual clarity in the bright desert sun of Southern California. And yes, iridium surfaces have always been susceptible to scratches. You just handle them appropriately and you will get years of good service out of them. Add to the performance of Oakley the great pricing incentive from Backcountry.com and this becomes a great deal.

Great sunglasses; arrived with scratch

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

great pair of sunnies - the vents work perfectly for the humidity of South Carolina. Arrived with tiny scratch on top lens - Backcountry returns quite the process - opportunity cost led me to go ahead and start wearing them. Needed the function, didn't have time to return and request another pair.

great

Won’t wear anything else for sports

I’ve been wearing the outfield prizm (maybe just called field now) for several years. I wear them for sand volleyball and they do everything they say they do. They help pick out the ball in the sky. The cut the sun without being too dark. They really increase clarity all around. They never fog up from sweat or anything (find frames that best fit your face). I absolutely LOVE these lenses. There is only one downside as far as I can tell and it’s the fact they scratch so easily.

Amazing

Ill be honest i got caught up by publicity and a video i watched from oakley’s factory and im really glad i did, definitely the best sunglasses ive used, went with the road prizm for road biking and on clear sky and extreme hot you feel your vision fresh and relax, for those hot days these sunglasses will help you a lot.

Oakley optics are the best

Familiarity:

Great glasses. I use them every time I ride one of my bikes. The optics are superior to anything else. Prizm is legit and should be tried by everyone.

Like Seeing the World in 4K HD

Familiarity:

The clarity on these sunglasses is unreal. They make everything appear sharper and more vivid. I bought these in the "snow" lenses for cross country skiing, and they are superb! I have also worn these road running on an sunny/partly cloudy run and they did phenomenal as well. These are my first pair of "sport" sunglasses (I normally just wear cheap polarized sunglasses). I really like how the arms grip your head, but there are no pressure points. I normally put the arms of my sunglasses under a headband as the arms tend to slip off my ears (so annoying). But these are freaking amazing, and the arms just grip the side of your head. Not once have I felt like these were going to slip off. Basically my only qualm is that I could only buy the "snow" lenses on white frames... I am not a huge white frames fan, but oh well. Regardless, these sunglasses are seriously amazing. I am normally in the camp that spending several hundred dollars on sunglasses is ridiculous, but these sunglasses are 100% worth the money.

I've been a loyal Rudy Project wearer for years. The Rudy's were hitting and of life and decided to try these. The fit is great as well as the visibility and lens. They work great in bright sunshine as well as cloudy days.

I have used Prizm goggles for snowboarding and they work great, but I did not expect the mountain bike version to work even better. It is literally better than my actual vision. I rode for 3 days down in Moab recently, and the lenses brighten the trail and define obstacles and rocks incredibly well. I kept taking off the glasses whenever I stopped and could not believe the difference. I got an insane glasses tan after riding 3 straight days, but other than that these glasses are perfect.

I have struggled using regular sunglasses while riding in low-light evening conditions. These glasses are perfect for evening rides as well as full sunlight. I would highly recommend these glasses.

I just received this sunglasses in time for a long ride, they were perfect. The Oakley's PRIZM technology it is amazing, you can see everything clearly. Another good thing is that do not fog on hot weather.

How effective are they on heavily-shaded trails, on a cloudy day? Equal to not wearing glasses?
