Why We Like The Nitro Cave TLS Step On Snowboard Boot

A dreamy collaboration, the Cave TLS Step On Snowboard Boot is a carving machine that enlists both Nitro's best-fit boot tech and modern-day, ultra-convenient Step On innovation. Between the comfort and speed boosts, we're able to rip more laps, no matter the conditions. Nitro's quick-fitting Twin Lacing System lets us dial in the perfect tightness in an instant and easily adjust it as the day goes on. The Flex Link shell lets us dig deep into our turns without sacrificing the integrity of the boot. And the cushy combo of Step On EVA and Rubber keeps our feet comfortable while we pop in and out of our bindings, no fussy straps necessary.

Not for everyone

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I have been riding my Burton step on bindings with a burton type boot that has a true stiffness flex rating of 8 for 3+ years now on 2 different boards with their own bindings. The problem is they (Burton) did not continue to make the boots for women! So I got a chance to try these on in store after reading they had similar specs to the Burton boot… and what a huge let down! I have never worn Nitro and it looks like I never will! First off is the shrink it and pink it syndrome where manufacturers simply change the color of product and for some strange reason shrink it down to unrealistic sizes and slap a “women’s” label on it. So the inner boot liner was so small that I couldn’t get the Velcro to secure around my leg! I tried on my normal size of 8 and the toe box was so horribly tight and rubbing that I thought I had tried on the wrong size, so anticipate these to run tight and narrow. Lastly the worst of all is the misleading flex rating of 7/8, which is a giant joke. These boots are soft with a mid flex of a 5 stiffness with minimal stiffness and maximum flex, despite the two tongue stiffeners which hardly did anything. The snowboarding industry is a huge let down for me as a woman! Making things too small and inferior to my level and style of riding! My husband tried on the men’s version of these and he was instantly disappointed with the false flex rating listed on these boots too and I ordered him our favorite Burtons!
